Xbox 360 PS3

The latest edition of Famitsu magazine has a few pages dedicated to the fighting videogame Street Fighter IV. Many veterans are added to the initial formation, like Chun Li, Guile, Zangief, Blanka, Dhalsim and E.Honda. No platform have been confirmed yet, except the arcade one. More details to come.

Looks good but is it just like a remake of Street Fighter 2? There's no new characters in those screenies, they're all from that game

No new characters are announced yet cause the haven't completely let loose the roster yet. There will be new and existing characters, from SF2 and maybe even SF3.

In what way did they mess up Chun Li? There are literally only two TINY screens featuring her.

Is the the big-thighed drawing that you're referring to?

everything is mediocre, this looks like a remake, that new character is GARBAGE, who the fuck okayed that mess?

Chun-li is fine though, i'm on my PS3 browsing so i zoomed in on her, her legs are normal (for her), the character art may be throwing you off, the back of her "dress" blends in with her right leg making it look freakishly huge!

Looks pretty good. These shots are way too tiny though. Chun Li and what I can see of the others are looking great. Glad to see Guile made it too.

I think the style looks fine, except the graphics aren't as cutting edge as I would like, they do seem like a PS2 game, at least from what I've seen.

I guess we'll see if the gameplay is likable.

I really don't like the look of this game. It looks like the contrast and saturation are up at like a billion percent on the characters, and they didn't even take the effort to make the environments cell shaded along with the rest of the damn game. And considering the visual quality I'd think they could have a smoother image. True screen shots tend to look a bit rougher around the edges, but still... For a cell shaded fighting game I'm not at all impressed with the visuals. I'm not really a fan of fighting games, but hopefully this game won't be as repetitive as others, not to mention more accessible to new comers to the genre.

Gameplay is exactly what worries me most. This isn't the same Capcom that made SF2, Alpha, SF3, and the Versus series--most of those people are gone--and the guy in charge.. well he has a lot to prove. We'll see though.. looks okay.

A new character has been announced and there will be no SF3 characters in this game. Another point of concern, frankly. SF2HD2? :)

They finally made the rest of chun li's body match the weight of her thighs. Not saying large thighs and a small body isn't possible, but in SF3 it was starting to get ridiculous.

I've always been confused by E. Honda's anatomy. How is it that a fat sumo wrestler can sport what looks like a bloated gutt with the detail of a defined sixpack? Crazy.

I love the art style its a new look and I would hate if this game tried 2 look realistic. Oh and the guy in charge did street fighter 3.

No he did not. He did music for Street Fighter 3. The only other fighting game that he ever spearheaded was the truly awful Capcom Fighting Jam. He was certainly not "in charge of Street Fighter 3"--he was in charge of its music and that's it.

He's also gone on at length about simplifying street fighter, and how he wants this game to appeal to a new generation of fans, which isn't necessarily good for those people who still follow the franchise. I'm guardedly optimistic but there's plenty of reasons to be a little concerned.

They have been using this art style for a decade it seems like (at least in comics and the later fighters)
