looking good, looking good! There is one thing that bugs me about JRPGs though, the combat music is the same for the ENTIRE game!!! couldnt have a special track for every area for example - I think it's a big part of why it becomes boring sometimes.

No thank you. I want proper music that's composed for the game. I am not saying the music is shit. I just hate the fact that ONE track for combat is used throughout the entire game.

Looks great. Hope some americans will buy it as well, even though it doesnt including real weapons and talibans to kill, so it sells pretty good. I have a feeling it will deserve it...

Hmm thats kinf of odd, why don't you play it with LO graphics and battle engine as well :S

A games music for me is just as important as the gameplay and graphics.

I doubt it will sell that well, even on the PS2 tales games didn't sell massively well.

In terms of gameplay, every Tales game looks like it hasn't evolved since the PS1 era

Cute graphics.

But all that running around with the fixed camera and animations, running into static NPC's to read texts and bumping into invisible walls just reeks of last-gen.

And FUCK random-battles, fuck them.

to be honest it looks like it could get pretty boring pretty fast. I really dont like the way they just appear too..leaving little room to run around them and not involve yourself in the exact same fight you've just had countless times already. Shame because it looks nice.. but if i want to fight the same enemy over and over again i'd rather play something like Too human where atleast theres a sense of an epic battle going on..some frantic brutalness to your upgrading/collecting.

Well "TAles of" games usually have 3 or 4 acts in the story and the normal battle music changes with it.... you must not have played a "tales of" game before then

Also you have a special battle music track for the last area and some music exclusively for the important bosses

According to Play-Asia the Japanese version is region locked. Since I live in Europe I'm really interested in buying an imported version but I doubt I'll be able to do that, I'll probably have to wait just as I had to wait for Eternal Sonata.

Anyway, for those of you who are interested in the (English language) Asian version it will be released on the 4th of September.

Yeh the music generally changes in the Tales of Games. I remember it doing so with Tales of Symphonia on the gamecube.

Been playing it since wednesday myself(got a copy early thanks to my local store) Have to say, its probably the best tales game ive played to date(as of the 22hour mark in the game)

Love the videos and such here, always good to see promotion of these titles. And the music is fine, Not sure if there was a change or not yet, but if there was i didnt notice it.

And yes, the game is region locked. I tried it in my US console hoping to get english as japanese is a pain in the ass.(although I can read, speak, and understand it, its just not my native language so its annoying to have to look up little weird words that are all over video games)

It is 100% real-time. The game is as deep as you wish to make it.

BigBoss are you attempting to suggest that this game has Random battles? Because it surely does not..

Um....there are no random battles in this game, you see all the enemies you fight, even on the world map. You only have fixed camera in closed zones, world map camera can be adjusted in many ways, their is a decent amount of movement in the game regarding NPCs and their dialogue is great. The invisible walls are kinda annoying, but what do you want? oblivion? Oblivion lacked a worthwhile plot and ill take the tales style gameplay over oblivion anyday.

Finally, the game is 100 percent real time in terms of battle system, infact, by the 20 hour mark your using pretty much every button on the controller for combat in some way. The fighting system is incredibly deep.

You know why the main character's hardcore? He doesn't even need his hips to carry his sword belt for him. He'll do it himself.
