PS3

Fatal Inertia is back, this time he's named Fatal Inertia EX and will be only available on the Playstation Store. This teaser video doesn't look bad at all, and almost made me forget how average the 360 game was.

Demo on Japanese PSN store if anyone is interested.

I'm not inspired enough to check it out myself but the feedback hasn't been very kind on the demo lol

Plus with Wipeout HD coming, this game is at the wrong end of the stick.
Kudos for trying though I guess.

I downloaded the demo last week off the JAP PSN store.....I gotta say its bloody awful! Really its the most dissapointing game Ive ever played on the PS3....graphics suck, gameplay is no way near the level of Wipeout and it just felit as if I was playing a rejected PS2 game

i tortured myself enough playing the 360 demo thank you very much...lol. although i heard this version fixes some things, namely the terrible framerate. so i might give it a go.

Judging from the gameplay I've seen you're making the PS2 sound better than it actually is.

Most people do that.

They forgot what PS2 games looked like I think. :/
Or perhaps it's just a mindless insult.

Ugh. Porting a crappy game to the PS3 will not earn back development costs. Next up is Vampire Rain. Yay!

huh? ps2 was, and still is an awesome system? what the hell are you talking about? i'd understand if you thought he ment graphics, but he ment gameplay, this game is very dated feeling, kinda like perfect dark zero was. it doesnt bring anything new to the futuristic racer sub-genre, in fact, it takes half a dozen steps back.

No, I'm not questioning how good or bad PS2 was, and yes, I really thought he meant graphics.

Played this earlier today (after reading the comment that it was up on the JP PSN). Game just isn't fun. The weapons just have that 'throw away' feel where you can pick them up and use them without having any real impact cause the AI is always behind you (I had no trouble staying in first) so there really isn't any challenge. You can basically breeze through it. Graphics seemed to be 'here and there' as I thought the water looked pretty nice but everything else looked like it could have used some polish.

Totally agree with Raj, felt like a cheap mans Wipeout! Graphics were pap and the handling was weak. 5/10 going by the demo.....

Further in the campaign, the AI is more challenging. Everybody hates this game. I'm not saying i "love" it, but there are actually some fine moments to enjoy. 50 different tracks is also nice. The grapple hook weapon is hilarious (fun). The gfx aren't that bad. And the framerate on 360 was tolerable, although it had screen tearing. As a Wipeout fan, I applaud new trials (and errors) in this niche genre. It's not perfect, in fact it's not that good, but it's not totally bad either. Happy to have it in my collection.
