PS3

Sony Europe and Insomniac Games release the teaser of the highly anticipated Resistance 2, in 720p but unfortunately dubbed in french. The final assault is planned for this fall, exclusively on Playstation 3.
Update: Teaser dubbed in english added.

The online play in the first one is pretty amazing, and this game is pushing it that much further. The screenshots of this also looked amazing if they are to be believed. The trailer was pretty disappointing though, even if it was real time it doesn't really show anything interesting.

Anyways, I'm looking forward to it, I enjoy/ed the first one very much.

Sony is just brilliant in creating a hype without having to prove that anything of it is real or significant.

Loved the first one, but this one is gonna be even more bigger and more bad ass...coming from the story and features the devs have said of course.

About the teaser...awesome scenery!

Haze, R2 and Killzone 2 (if it's still for 2008)...my FPS fixes for this year to get :D

Didn't like Resistance one bit, judging from the demo and gameplay footage I've seen. This seems promising though, looks like they're aiming for nothing but epicness...hopefully they'll succeed!

It might be my first new PS3 game after owning the console for months (I got Motorstorm with the bundle...horrible game...and I got F1 CE second hand...awesome game!).

You based Resistance's gameplay upon footage? You should at least rent the game. I thought it looked really dull before I actually played the full game too. Even the demo didn't really do it for me, but the full game is great IMO. As far as graphics alone the 1st one had some great features, like the glass, shadows, and just how 'solid' the game world felt, but overall the graphics aren't too great. But I love the weapons, many of them are just so fun to use.

Nah, mainly based on the demo. I was mildly optimistic from the gameplay footage at first, but the demo putt me off completely. Just didn't feel right somehow, just couldn't get into it. The controls felt smooth enough, but the combat just didn't feel all that satisfying.

I recognize how well received the game has been and everything, it's just not for me. Perhaps the sequel will ramp things up just enough to get me hyped. After all, I'm always in for an epic FPS.

But it has to click so to speak. SP of Halo lacked this as well (worst intro ever!). Half life 2 is a great example of how it does manage to grab me, both in terms of story/setting and gameplay/controls.

Loved the first Resistance (play the co-op on Hard, it's too easy otherwise) and this one is looking to be much improved.
Anyone who's played Ratchet and Clank will recognize the tech shown in this teaser. Can't wait.

Well, it certainly is a teaser. However, we get a look at the new Nathan Hale model. It has normal mapping! Anyway, the June 13th gameplay vid should be very interesting.

Er, huh? This is a TEASER dude. If you think Sony is the only one to generate hype with a teaser trailer, you are quite mistaken. Sigh.

Apart from the uber-AA and high quality per-pixel motion blur, this probably is or could be realtime. This PARTICULAR video is not realtime, but at a native res could be.

If you look closely you'll notice the city is a flat matte painting which makes no sense if you're going to pre-render the scene. Then again Sony's trailers can never be trusted so any debate FOR or AGAINST is pointless. What remains is the steadfast belief of fanboys and the due skepticism the rest.

$ony does not need to prove anything. Just look at the PS3: it's so powerful that you can connect it to 2 1080p TVs and have twice the resolution of the X360, because it's twice as powerful as the X360. It can even emulate all PS2 games due to it's amazing processing power. $ony never lies to it's customers to create hype and make money because $ony loves us. They don't care about money.

I know this message will be presented in boulet time eventually, but this needs to be said.

that makes no sense...you clearly cant differentiate between real time and cg...this is a real time cutscene...there are added effects in there, but you can see flickering etc in the vid...straw castle

uh... doesn't Insomniac Games make this game, and not Sony? So is the argument that Insomniac has something to prove with their game, or that Sony has something to prove as a publisher or platform? Because those are two very different things. Insomniac has a very good reputation as a developer and seem to be saying if you like the first Resistance, then guess what... we've spent some time making it a little better for you. And what's wrong with that?

It isn't CGI. It is a cutscene rendered in-engine.
