Game looks gorgeous. First Tekken I've been excited about since Tag.
So basically you didn't play the best ones then. Tekken tag is such overhyped bullshit i can't believe it. Tekken didn't get good until 5 imo. 7 looks great though, i'm getting pumped to actually play it after essentially skipping Tag 2.

No I haven't, played it on the PS1 back in the day. :)
Probably like with a lot of old games, not all, that it's best to just leave them be. They will never be as good when you played them the first time.
I don't know about that. Some games and their design is more timeless than others. I mean, Mario 3 on the NES is still a really good platformer. Or tetris? Timeless. When it comes to 3D fighters and competitive play though, the games are still developing a bunch i think. And now it almost seems like the genre is dying. Where's Soul Calibur 6 and VF6 goddammit!? :P

Really dislike the style of this game. It's the first time in a while when the unreal engine has been instantly recognisable as the unreal engine.. Like the tekken characters decided to have a scrap in the world of gears of war, complete with CA and film grain. Blergh.
I don't know...I just don't like it. Looks empty to me. And I really love Tekken. Her character is nice and I don't think her tits are DoA style...it's far from that, but environment looks boring, lighting is nothing amazing, but I agree it's too early to judge it by this one stage, so....I will wait and see.

Again, the game has been out for ages in the arcades. Hours upon hours of gameplay to be found both on Youtube and twitch. Judge all you want.
Not that i really see what you are complaining about, i think the stage looks pretty good. Especially compared to TTT2 and Revolution. Not to mention like SFV, that has really lackluster stages.
But what is it thats missing in your opinion then? Geometry, interaction and textures are all good enough, i should say. Sure, it doesnt have doa type stage bullshit, nor dobwe have tons of obstructions on the actual stage, but thats by design. If its the aesthetics you dont like, then i wouldnt hope for much improvement in the console release, lol :)

Especially textures are really bad.....I saw better textures even in flight simulations. :-D I think the best way to describe my feeling from this, is that it looks muddy. Not really a crisp graphics.
You dont even get close enough to the stage geometry to tell really, the only thing i could say anything about is the stall with the feuit that matbe looks a biy so-so, but you wont even have time to think about that while doing your wall staple anyway :P
Guess ive kust been conditioned to accept shote graphics in Tekken since 6, as they have all been mediocre looking :)

There is really a close up on ground, but yeah...You are right, in the end You fight like hell and not really focusing on any specific point, but just explaining my point of view on this. I'm just waiting for some really kick ass graphics in fighting game in the future. Also some effects may be in action in the screenshots, so it can blur the textures as well. But I just don't like how it looks. That's all. :-D
Generally, the ground in fighting games is one of my biggest problem. It doesn't mean, You can't have good fighting game with ugly ground, but c'mon.....today technologies allow great things with bumpmaps, tessellations, greatly improved poly count on scene....so why we don't see all kinds of little rocks, bumps, cracks, high density grass etc? TTT had great grass in that tropical island stage. Adding a weight to bodies wouldn't hurt anybody as well. Just evolve it a little bit. Developers are lazy as fuck. :-D

i think its technically proficient enough. but the awful art direction doesn't do it any favors.
