Well since you are in tje UK (right?) i suppose you could get a datel arcade stick which has a PCB that's basically a "dualmod" straight out of the box. I think it's like £25-30 off of amazon. A bit of sanding and a few drilled holes and you can quite easily fit sanwa or seitmitsu stuff in there. Just about anybody should be able to solder that shit, but again i think you'll probably need to dremel out a few tabs for the buttons and sand away a little edge around the stick housing. Still the Datel stick is cheap as all hell and the new components shouldn't run you too much. You can get stuff like that at gremlinsolutions.co.uk

They also have atwo guys who build custom stick, but that's rather pricy. If you want good quality but don't want to do any work i guess the Madcatz TE stick is the way to go. That's what i'm using currently, and i can't complain.

So basicaly, if you want good stuff cheap, mod or build yourself. Otherwise be prepared to pay up if you don't want garbage :)

I suppose that this sucker might be quite nice too.

Never thought of qanba as a good manufacturer but wtf, it's got OBSF-30 buttons and they are decent, and the jlf-tp-8yt stick seems pretty standard. I think that's the same junk they have in the TE sticks.

^^ one major gripe i have with the sticks, is the damn cost lol, not been tight but i don't play them that much anymore to warrant anything above 40 notes.

Yeah it does cost money, no doubt there. Also the crummy Datel stick seems to be out of stock pretty much everywhere as well. I think the Qanba stick i posted earlier is the best value you'll find. If i were in the market for a stick i'd probably pre-order that shit :)

Or he could just buy a cheap hori (or even madcatz these days) and be done with it. I don't think he's looking for a pro stick.

Ironically.. a lot of people play Tekken with Playstation pads in the arcade.

A lot of US players do, yeah. And then they get raped by koreans ;) Did you see that EVO final between Nin and Rip? Utter RAPE :D

It's just that if you get something like a Hori FS3 or EX2 those are still going to run you £50-60 or something in that range and the components are SHIT and they break easily. Not to mention that they are a bitch to mod as reguar stick housings don't fit and you have to either sand the stick or the bottom plate down. No, i think that it's worth spending a bit more for the extra mileage and non-sucking. Also you get a better second hand price if you decide you don't need it later.

Then again if you can get a good price for a Hori FS3/EX2 or Madcats standard edition they are useable, even if i wouldn't call them good. I got 2 EX2 sticks for like £40 used, couldn't say no to that :)

Maxattack: Well if you like Tekken 6 just imagine the tag mechanic form TTT added in and the new feature of tag assault, which basically means you sacrifice th red portion of your health bar to tag a guy in when you do a bind move, for one extra move/string. Obviously the game has been balanced a bit as well. From what i hear the cheap bastards form T6 have pretty much all been nerfed. Law actuall has negative frames on block now! ZING! No but really, aside from Lars many of the cheapo top-tier guys have been nerfed and the Mishimas are stronger. EWGF tracks now, so that's going to be a bitch :P

I've never really followed Tekken so I wouldn't know. I've always thought it was a little bizarre. Chinatown Fair (now closed) had a big rep as being a local center for compeditive gamers, and there were always tons of kids huddled around the Tekken cabs with Playstation controllers. Strange sight.

Sure i'm just saying, the £99 stick that works on 360, ps3 and PC with sanwa components is great value, especially as compared to a £50 piece of shit stick that only works on one system.

I think it's more that they want the game to be arcade exclusive for a while. I mea TTT2 Prologue runs just fine on PS3 already, they'd just need to dump the rest of the characters and stages in there, translate it and be done. I just don't think they want to kill off the arcade profits in korea, japan and china.
