The "original tag team fighter"? What a bunch of baloney... DOA2 did 3D tag before Tekken, and Tecmo didn't sell it as two separate games. You can probably tell but I'll be playing DOA5 instead of this :P

A quick search shows that tekken tag came first actually, by about 3 months. So no, DOA2 didnt do it before tekken.

I hate DOA , so i'll be playing this.

EDIT - i do hope it has the awesome character specific CGi endings of the old games. Kinda sick of the usual bollocks fighters have after completing the arcade mode. Usually just scrolling text and a picture....LAME.

I agree with those endings. Tekken Tag Tournament was my first game on PS2 and I still love it. Even there were only one CGI ending it was awesome. I love that white suite with ravens. Well done.

I remember back in the day when the first Tekken was new I thought it was inferior to Sega's Virtua Fighter and couldn't image that it will once become a successful long living series. Guess I was wrong.

Good to see that it looks so much better. You can really tell that they remodeled all the faces. The skin shader looks miles better as well.

Buck: Well i don't think Tekken could be taken seriously untill T5 tbh. I know a lot of people like Tekken 3 and TTT but damn those games are unbalanced. T4 was just shit and with 5 the series really hit it's stride imo. Before T5 i'd certainly say that VF was superior.

I absolutely agree on that too. SF is even worse. Tekken at least looks... well... quarter-decent. Still doesn't makes it acceptable.

I played DOA2 in the arcades when it first came out... it was not really a game designed as a tag fighter it was more like an option and worse DOA2 had uneven elevation stages so alot of gamers could not really play it as a reliable, responsive fighter for the same reasons people complained about VF3 and Tekken 4.

Tekken Tag Tournament 1 arcade at least was designed as a full time tag game with the minor option of single player mode... for the home console versions...

You also gotta keep in mind that DOA2 had alot of gameplay issues with gamers crying foul, the endless reversal/hold system, etc so most people just went back to VF or Tekken or Soul Calibur as far as the top 3d fighting games back then in both arcades and home consoles

the devs at DOA2 team ninja really needed to refine the tag system but instead they chose to make variations of DOA2 while at the same time not really generating much interest... then they went to Xbox 1 exclusive thinking they would get an audience but that just did not happen...

I still like the DOA games but at the end of the day Virtua Fighter series, Tekken, the early 3d Street Fighters, Rival Schools/Project Justice and even Fighting Vipers were much more reliable fighting games... at least DOA series had juggly boobies something that other fighters took years to do in 3d.

Also wow, I did not buy Tekken 6... but I am definetly buying Tekken Tag T 2 for PlayStation 3 DAY ONE the graphics make butt hurt haters cry.

This is the sequel to Tekken Tag Tournament... a game that was made on PlayStation 1 based arcade hardware and reprogramed and enhanced as a PlayStation 2 first year game... (1999 and 2000)

Oh hai you luv UFC... tap out... I bet you love wearing those tap out shirts, gloves and you pretend with your buddies to be uhh fighting on the floor for the championship?? like these guys right?
