Considering it's just a 1 on 1 (OK, sometimes 2 on 1 for tag moves) fighting game the graphics should look not far off the renders. Just look at Fight Night Champion, that managed it. Although if the game is as bad as most of the other Tekkens then it doesn't matter what the graphics are like, lol!

I'm so tired of all these old fighting game rehashes. I've been playing these tired old fighting games since the days of the PS1. I'm tired of them! How about something NEW?????

It's interesting that when a new Tekken comes out everybody and his grandma bitches about it like it was the end of gaming, then cream their pants when the 294th variation on SF2 is shown.

Tekken 6 was awesome, this looks a lot better and has tag team matches. If you are in any way interested in fighters, this should excite you. If not then...well, just don't play it.

I don't think people realize just how the fighting community works. T6 was a pretty big change from 5, as will this undoubtedly be from 6 but you have to be rather invested in the game to notice it.

I mean if you like Fight Night better then play that, there's room enough for all different types of games. And no, this looks better than SCIV. SCIV looks great but this is a tad better. But what with Namco just officially opening the SCV page, who knows, maybe that'll look even better.

Tekken 3 was TEH ABSOLUTE SHIT back in the day... Now that said, I couldn't give two flying fucks about this game. Tekken, SF, DOA, GG, there are so many rehashes among these series that it's sickening. The only one I'm not tired of (yet) is Soul Calibur, but I'm sure that will change soon.

again, the "rehashes" as you call them, at least in the case of Tekken and VF (the games i play and can comment on), aren't really rehashes at all. You can't claim that Tekken 3, 4 and 5 play and feel like the same game. No way. Tekken 3 was cool for it's time though severely unbalanced, Tekken 4 was a pile of Shit and Tekken 5 is where it starts getting good. There are some major changes in T6 as well what with Bind moves and rage, not to mention the balancing. If you just throw the game in and mash against your friends then sure, i guess it might feel like the same old crap, but that's pretty much true for all fighters. You need to actually learn to play the games to see the big differences between the games.

Yes hopefully it will be a PlayStation 3 exclusive so that the game does not get dumbed down again.

Indeed, it's not like Guitar Hero or COD, where the older versions are more like expansion packs, than really a new game. Also, "rehashes" are released annually, unlike fighters. Fighting games take their time to perfect everything. Of course, not everyone likes the same formula. The only game you may consider rehash, lately, is Virtua Fighter 5 R, and even that one, is different than VF5.

....says the troll... though if you'd like to attempt to explain why a fighting game would need to be "dumbed down" to hit the 360, I'm down for a good chuckle.

The entire notion that any specific hardware would dumb the game down goes straight out the window when you realize ti's a bloody arcade port anyway. That aside, t6 has a lot shorter loading times on 360, i don't know what that converts to in the mind of the PS3 fanboy but i'm just saying.

T6 was more scrub friendly from the start though, has nothing to do with hardware as it's all design choices :P

I think a lot of people just don't get the competitive nature of fighters. A lot of people are happy if you mash a few buttons and cool shit happens and for those people i understand why the games would feel like a rehash but once you start playing at a higher level a single changed, added or removed move can change a character DRASTICALLY. Just compare Kazuya in T5 and T6, completely different. His B+1, 2 (i11 and wallsplat plus good damage, it's awesome) is pretty much the best punisher in the game and was added for T6, even though i guess he was completely nerfed on the offensive side. Seemingly small changes and additions can have a huge impact on the game though, makes each release seem different and fresh. But again, that's only noticeable if you actually get in to the game, most casual players don't even know the input lingo and certainly don't understand concepts like frame data and how to apply that to the game. I mean, i've got a ton of hate mail from people who think i'm unfair for catching them on Oki when they roll back each and every time they get on the ground. Sort of explains the situation of the majority of the players out there.

There does seem to be some sort of AA going on, but it's not very extensive, or at least it doesn't seem to carry over into all areas of the image.

Hey, it's better than nothing.
