Before the big HD video, get a tiny glimpse of what is Gears of War by now with this video: 10 minutes of gameplay (basically the E3 levels), at Microsoft's pre-TGS conference. It's beautiful, smooth and action-packed, looks very promising. But you'll have to watch it in a very little window. At least, you won't tell that we slow down your computers...
[Update]: High Quality video added.

Commented on 2005-09-15 12:07:33Is it strange that a 24 year old guy wants to buy action figures from a game he hasn't played yet? :D

Commented on 2005-09-15 15:09:11This is SO kill.switch with warhammer people. They even share the same questionable dive animation.

Commented on 2005-09-15 23:28:48This game is similar to kill.switch in that the premise and execution of the core gameplay are EXACTLY the same. Listen to the interview, he goes on about cover and shootouts like he invented it. I heard the exact same thing from some namco dude a year or two ago, going on about kill.switch, demonstrating the exact same things with the exact same animations and the exact same emphasis on "you can't run and gun, the enemies will duck and take cover!".
From the footage shown, they are identical as far as core gameplay goes. So what if you push a car around together, it's still essentially the same game at its core. Does that mean it's bad? No, certainly not.
