Virtua Fighter 5 on PS3 is back with this big gameplay video. This game was definitely the start of this year's TGS for Sega. Update: Added a second gameplay video.
Superb animations and graphics. Although it doesn't help that Brad looks like a plastic figurine and that they use the same sound effects since VF 2. Still with gameplay this solid, who cares.
All the leather jackets and silk shirts never looked so shiny. Maybe what the VF characters need is Fashion Intervention.
But the game looks superb, easily the prettiest of the series so far. I only wish they tweaked the turning animations while the characters are holding defense, they still just freeze and slide around their axis. About the sound effects, i dig the corny one-liners and trademark Suzuki butt rock soundtracks. In fact, i expect that from AM2 already.
Can't wait to see what Namco will show with the next-gen Soul Calibur. The previous games already look gorgeous, with all this tech power they will look like a gift from the Lord. Halleluja!
A detail that i've noticed is how the fog reacts to the characters at the Jacky vs Lei-Fei clip, it's a nice visual fx that i've never seen before. Real-time fluids simulation?
I have always found VF to be intimidating (despite Evo's excellent tutorial mode). I like SC and Tekken just about equally (perhaps Tekken a bit more... Raven's my guy).
