Xbox 360

Beautiful Katamari Damacy is rollin' in images for the Xbox 360. Let us remember the support of up to four princes in the multiplayer mode where you will be able to roll up things online, no matter where you live. The King of all Cosmos decides (randomly) which item must be rolled the most, and the objective is, well, to roll it up as much as you can do. Leaderboards fans will be happy to know they are included, tracking the number of presents and cousins you got from the solo experience, but also your rank determined by your score in versus matches.

I think if they added detail to the graphics it'd loose its charm.. but that's just me. As long as its all smoothed out and in widescreen, I don't mind. It's the crazy gameplay and music that everyone loves about this series anyway.

I know they could have improved some aspects of the game without losing it's style.

The first Katamari games were actually pretty technically impressive for PS2, in-game DOF, great LOD, all of that...

The game is meant to be blocky and the characters are meant to look generic, with only colors, sizes and mustaches/beards differentiating them.

i'm not buying that at all. the art is stylised for sure but this is just lazy, textures could've been sharper, perhaps more effects could've been applied.
it looks exactly the same.

Even simple things like adding subtle shadow effects or dynamic lighting would have been an improvement and not taken away from the style at all.

Imagine a night time level with street lamps and such where you need to make your katamari more bright by picking up lamps and such...

yeah, selfshadowing and whatnot would've been a big improvement. ah well.
