PS3

Killzone 2 is playable at Sony's booth, and while I don't think it's really a new demo I couldn't resist putting this footage online. The player is horrible, but damn this game just keeps impressing me technically and artistically.

Just when I thought maybe Resistance 2 had caught up to Killzone 2 Graphically

i like the monotone colour pallet personally, never understoof that complaint as long as its a clear stylistic decision. it may look bland to a lot of people, but to me it makes what colour there is really "pop". different strokes tho right. i mean, if i had something against killzones art style then i'd probably hate gears of wars art style and fallout 3's art style too, but those games look great stylistically.

the game does look amazing tho, i think graphically and in terms of immersion, nothing comes close to this. while im a fan of FPS's and always will be, its nice to see one with such a high level of polish. everything from reload animation and the feeling of genuine movement and weight when you run has had a lot of effort put into it, even the damage and blood splatter on the screen looks awesome.

if there was one game i could play right now over everything else, this would be it. i've never been so excited for an FPS's before. which is weird considering the first game on ps2 was far from good.

Exactly. its uncomparable to say the least but don't get me wrong, infact I was a little disturbed to not have some new environment revealed at TGS like I was hoping for a jungle or Space stage like something. But I guess as it is not a very asian/japanese oriented title, so tgs is not the event for revealing assets of such a western taste game, so I'm cool.

The urban environment and such is just so cool, this game is unbelievable. The polish in visuals is something that makes it Gran Turismo of fps games, but a need to have a varying tone environment made me write what I did above.

eh, I don't think its that the player "isn't good". I'm loath to judge the game based on the beta, but the overall sloppiness and lack of feedback on the weapons makes it a real chore to play.

Post production effects are top notch.

The one question I have though is will this be a good game or a tech demo with gameplay.

From the footage so far, I expect a COD PC-like experience, but for the modern age:
Lot's of blast it up action interspersed with some emptiness to induce nervousness and suspense, and great graphics.
All at about 8 hours of play, but worth every minute.

I don't know, that's just what I expect.
I wouldn't pass it up.

Definitely a showcase if nothing else.

Well gameplay wise the previews have been overwhelmingly positive so I'm not worried, they have been eating up feedback so it should be the game people want.

I haven't played it but I haven't heard negatives on weapon feedback yet. With such a long running BETA they have plenty of time to tune things up perfectly.

^_^A perfect description of gears of war^_^. but not KZ2.

Where did you get this info. I don't think KZ2 is going to last only 8 hours. And if your judgement is true, it really defines gears of war, but nobody knows KZ2 as it hasn't been released yet. I hope COD-4 resemblance does make it into the game.

They are probably working on other levels, story...etc. so they dont spoil everything.
One thing that I dont like is that they show tons of new bosses, gameplay...etc. from games that when you play it doesn't seem fresh.

I guess they want to keep everything fresh when you get the full game and play it.
That's atleast what I think.

I'm not having that, i need to see more that one section before release, but my guess is i hope they start to rachet it up before release.

ALAS after putting all the SPE'S to work for the visual part of KZ2 there was not much left to control the A.I.

A.I is simply dreadful! There goes the gameplay!

Wow, you weren't kidding when you said the player is horrible. By far the worst player I have ever seen on tape.

Looks like someone's a PC gamer.

When are we going to see something different from this game?
i dont want to, unlike a lot of developers GG have released 2 FULL levels as demo's at conferences. most release tiny bits of multiple levels instead. if GG show any more full levels, by the time we get around to play it ourselves we'll have seen practically everything in its entirety. something i dont want. by all means release screenshots of other environments like jungle or snow etc....but i dont want to see any more single player gameplay footage beyond that of this level and the lightning level...multiplayer is fair game. they can show as much of that off as they like.

as for co-op, im pretty sure they confirmed that they will be patching that feature in after launch.
