Video Xbox 360 PS3

The TGS was a good opportunity to finally see the Playstation 3 version of Bayonetta and again, DjMizuhara was there for us.

It's because all the TGS videos miss audio... He taped it at the event and recording the sound isn't possible....

It looks good, but something Japanese developers need to catch up to Western developers in is walking and running animations, and the way they transition between them. Her run looks so stiff and she seems to turn at sharp angles. I know it makes no difference to the gameplay, but things like that bug me. Games like Uncharted and Assassin's Creed are examples of great animation that most Japanese developers aren't even close to matching.

In the heat of kicking ass that would be the least of things I will watching honestly, and the animations are awesome in my opinion, better that n those games you say,Drake and Altair only dream of do the things Bayonetta does.

Didn't the dev practically come out and say the PS3 version would be inferior? Apparently it's not being handled by the main team. I'm really, really hoping I don't have to buy the 360 version :(

Well it's hard to see when someone means that as a joke seeing as we've had people complaining before...

This is one of those games I just don't get. People seem so excited but it just looks very "meh" to me. Too over the top and crazy in terms of design.

But with great reviews I'll rent the game to see what it's about.

Not sure what exactly you mean by "over the top japaneseness" lol, but I think I get the basic idea ;)

Must be a Niche thing, my girlfriend is sooo in love with japanese anime, and I find most of it to be as poorly written as a MGS game (easy fanboys....). Guess I'm just too westernized lol.

PS3 version being inferior? I never actually heard such a thing. But hey, there is bound to be a difference anyway, since they are different consoles wih different pros/cons. For starters, i bet you have to install the PS3 version.

Haven seen it looking as good as the easy automatic demonstration that platinum did, which concerns me a little. Really what is the problem with getting the ps3 to perform well when it basically the equivalent of the 360 probably a little better actually?? I dont know the technical issue of doing this but maybe a slightly different approach to getting the most out of ps3 as it is internally different to the 360.

I know ps3 is probably less familiar to developers as they cant do things in the same way they did before, but I think persevering with it and gaining the experience now will let developers have the option to use ps3 as the lead platform in the future and get the extra things it can offer.

It's because from a programming perspective the PS3 is about as nice and convenient as a kick in the balls. Programmers aren't used to working with the awkward architecture of the PS3 and porting is probably made none the easier.

Final version should be fine (at least in the US anyway as there is extra development time to utilize).

Furthermore, Sega isn't stupid. Releasing the PS3 version of the game in a shitty state is not a smart thing to do (especially since that version of the game will sell the most in Japan) and Sega would have delayed the game if they couldn't get it into tip top shape.

My guess is that the "Falling Clock Tower" sequence was accidentally shown to early on the PS3, leading to fears about the game. However, such issues would make the game unplayable which would be bad for Sega. They WANT to sell the game in Japan (360 exclusive titles are pushing at most 200,000 lifetime, and that is for ESTABLISHED franchises; this means they need the PS3 version to sell). So Sega would obviously put every resource they have towards fixing the problems and make sure the PS3 version works.
