Damn that is impressive,

Its really becoming ridiculous, FFXIV looks ways better than FF13 even being a MMO. With most of the trailer ingame and specific cgi sections as in ocean battle, the engine totally rocks for 14. I believe like mostly others, that multiplatform dev has taken its toll on FF13 much :(

But thats only one thing, with all due respect intact I totally believe FF13 is the best jRPG going to be this gen yet. And can't wait for FF14, its made me super-hyped for it...

Plz gamersyde, also upload MGS: Peace Walker's stellar new trailer too in your pristine glory :). The new song "Heavens Divide" totally like made me cry!

These games look kind of interesting but I'll never be able to spend enough time playing them to justify the monthly fee. If they made the game $20 and only wanted $5/mo I'd be onboard

"Yet the land we fought was not without peril"

"And so we grind on!"

:s Mayor graphics downgrade from the previous ingame videos shown, yet SE hasn't lost their touch for cutscenes :)

Depending on what videos you have watched, guess you have only watched CGI so far, but there have been plenty of ingame pretty looking videos from previous conventions. And by what i've seen, it's been totally downgraded.

Come on dude, there is only like 15 seconds of what I would call gameplay footage(if that). That awesome scene of the people sitting around in the Bar/market used assets but hardly looks realtime. Well, maybe a realtime cutscene, but that hardly counts. There is a marked difference in texture and lighting...

Ive seen every video. I know the difference between CG and In-Engine better than most people. I see no downgrade.

FFXIV does not look better then FF13. I have seen gameplay videos on FFXIV, and this trailer shows mostly CG. The brief gameplay shown looks nothing like the CG in the trailer. Also, the graphics for FF13 has nothing to do with it being multi-platform. It was ported to the 360 only two months before this years E3. And FFXIV will be on 360 as soon as Square Enix resolves issues with Microsoft's MMO policies. They already said that was the only thing holding back a 360 release. For now it is only PS3 and PC.

it does NOT look better than FF13. The actual gameplay stuff looks pathetic...its a HD version of FFXI. Not impressive at all

I know i shouldn't be giving links to other gaming sites, so i won't. But just so you notice the difference i'll give you an example: Look for videos from GamesCom.

If that doesn't make you notice the downgrade, i don't know what will. Those videos were mostly gameplay footage caught on camera (nowhere near the quality of gamersyde's camera ;p), but they still looked way better than the little in-game shown in this trailer.

Still, there is people like Thor (or probably just him), saying this looks so much better compared to FFXIII... Really now... I had to read his whole post to understand they were just fanboy claims.
