it doesn't seem to do anything particularly great in the looks department, but it's looking to have some huge boss battles, afterall isn't the tower itself alive?!
And don't get me wrong, I loved Gears so this would be great if done properly. But being a self-respected developer, surely you'd want to have a bit more of an identity of your own?!
I'm really stunned by how smilar to looks to Gears in every single aspect, unbelievable...
There is possibility this is easy configured for tgs?
About the game itself: Looks pretty much average in graphics. Some of the character models look good but then again, the textures are pretty weak. But it's still not too bad. If the gameplay is good, and if the publishers overtghink a splitscreen mode, and if the characters are cool and story is nice, then this could be a great title.... just sadly with average graphics.
The game does look derivative of Gears of War, but I do love the changing environment motif. I hope they really explore that concept. The game could turn out to be quite unique.
What's the release window for the game?
Gears is a great game despite legitimate criticisms (unengaging color palette, a story that doesn't appeal to everybody, etc.). I would expect exclusive PS3 owners to enjoy the hell out of this . . . and as a result I would expect the developers to make some money. Good for them, and to the Ps3-ers out there . . . enjoy! Hopefully it will be the same adrenaline drip directly into your heart that Gears is.
**protip: if the multi is basically Gears too . . . sometimes (this may be more prevalnent on PSN) you'll find yourself on a "silent" team, either lacking mics or simply running muted. If so, start the round by throwing grenades directly at your feet. It will actually be less painful than trying to win. No matter how good the players are individually, an un-coordinated Gears team is just giblets running around in their pre-giblet forms.
One criticism after watching the video again --
Chainsaws beat magic sword. Maybe not to the Japanese market, but respectfully they are 100% wrong on this point.

as it's not a gameplay footage but a trailer that was on PSN during TGS week ago (with sound as well...).
Kind of shows you the power of marketing doesn't it?
Spinoffs / ripoffs have never garnered the same level of respect as the originators, even if the product is good. That's the way it has always been, and that's the way it always will be.
It's one thing to take elements of other games and use them as inspiration, but it's another thing to take the very defining characteristics that make you say "That's Gears of War" and then clone them to another game, to the point where if you glance at the game without paying attention, your brain automatically says "That's Gears."
Sure they'll make money off of it, and it may even be a great game, but it won't have its own identity in the same way that Gears does.
I see gears clones
I see FF clones
I see Street Fighter clones
I see Age of empire clones
I play clones
I have enjoyed clones.
Nothing wrong with copying something as long as you do a good job.
Was halo bad because it took some of half lifes soul ?
Was God of War bad because it copied a bit of Devil may cry (if only a bit)
Was forza bad for been like GT
Was codMW bad for copying Ghost Recon
