Video PS3

Here we are finally at the Tokyo Games Show, with one of my favorite games announced lately: Ninokuni on the PS3, developped by Level 5 with Studio Ghibli. A first gameplay video is available, with much more to come.
Update 4: I just realized I has missed the map part of the video, so here it is, and it's beautiful. We should be able to go back and record it again with this time someone explaining the game mechanics in English.

Looks Great! Level 5 rarely disappoints and I'm guessing my wife would love this.

I was surprised that the game was playable. Gives off a Dragon Quest VIII vibe which is great. I hate the anime looking characters with realistic textures look that some JRPGs are doing nowadays. It creeps me out.

I'm still baffled by how well this replicates the Ghibli style in real time 3d graphics. It looks great :)

the animation quality is superb! Wonder why the white knight titles look so awful though?

hahah. Pretty sure it is influenced by Dragon Quest and inspired by Studio Ghibli... I don't think Blue Dragon was a trend setter in anyway.

Seems to me much closer to Blue Dragon than Dragon Quest what with you using an avatar to fight your battles.

I have to take that back, at least. Its not noticeable in these videos. But today i saw the trailer of the game and it showed plenty of characters that could have been taken straight out of Wind Waker and such, no big deal though. Also the overall vibe, to me really felt Zeda 'ish.

It seems the battles are not turn-based, right? Thats lovely, i hope we'll get to play this in europe eventually.

I just think it looks a whole lot like a ghibli movie, not so much like Wind Waker. Depends on your frame of reference i guess. If you never saw any Ghibli stuff, maybe Windwaker is the closest.

exactly, seeing as ghibli have been making their animated movies since the mid 80's, i dont think zelda is really where they drew inspiration...lol.
