Best FPS franchise for me by far, I just hope this takes the freedom of Crysis 1 and keep everything else from Crysis 2.
I liked Crysis 2, but not as much as Crysis 1, that jungle level will always be prefered than boring city (like Predators).

Anyways, cant wait to play it.

Damn, best fps franchise?? I wasn't blown away by either, fun & technically impressive, but otherwise not all that memorable.

After the second, can't say i'm interested. Throwing in a bow but retaining everything else (including the AI breaking cloak system) doesn't really make a bad game good for me. I'll probably rent it for the "story" lol, but there is no way i'd pay money for this. It just looks like crysis 2 with a slightly more overgrown city...meh.

Also, ditch the friggin aliens, they're not fun to fight at all.

Well we look at different things then, for me its the nanosuit and modding your weapons anytime and anyhow you want to on any situation. The cloak, extra strength, extra armor, speed, you are practically a Predator class in a alien suit, for me that is what I love about it and no FPS have come close to giving me that feeling nor its abilities.

Only thing i hate is that its on Earth, wish they would just make so we steal alien ship and go to the alien planet, that would be badass and something fresh.

IIRC they've(finally) added an enemy that can break your cloak.

There already were some of those in the early parts of Crysis and i believe later in C2 too.

First game was mediocre. Looked nice, but was mediocre. Felt like a chore to play at times. Second game just put me to sleep. It was soooooooooo boring! Cliche'd and BOOOOORRRRRRRRING! Felt like a bigger chore to play. Didn't make it through 4 levels. Uninstalled it. The end.

This looks like more of the same, but with the usual pretties, so might give it a go some time.

hope it plays better than crysis 2 - looked nice but the shooting mechanics just dont feel responsive enough. The aliens are also pretty pointless so far..offering no challenge over the human counterparts...only they run at you instead of taking cover. Games just not gripped me at all..had it over a year now and probably only 30% through. Not helped by a terrible script, poor voice acting, and poorly executed set up - they made such a big deal about having a "hollywood screen writer" didnt they?

Whatever happened to their kinect game?

If it plays as well as it looks. Awesome.

Bleached smiles, - the quicker devs drop Kinect the better, it's a pos. But i'm sure you already know that.

As for crisis, they should end it on a high note.

This engine would have been perfect for the resistance games.

The shooting mechanic was perfectly responsive. If you want unresponsive then play Killzone 2 or pre-patch Battlefield 3 on ps3 then you know what it truly means.
I actually thought the way the weapons was modelled and reacted was better than Crysis 1.
And i agree, the aliens are freaking boring to fight against, poorly designed. Now I want to fight ONLY aliens but not like the way they are now. I prefered the Crysis 1 designs more.

It would be perfect for pretty much all FPS and action games, be it fantasy or sci fi. Engine is great, if used right of course...kind of like UE3 how some devs fail at it and some devs can make it look very nice.

IdTech5 is the perfect engine for shooters and action games, you know because that little something about 60fps.

This games can't even run at 30fps.

I'd give up 60fps for 30 and some more effects in a heartbeat. Unless it's in a fighting game or a third person action game, 60fps looks weird to me.

i'd definatly favour 60fps over 30fps when it comes to fps games - its where i notice the difference it makes the most. Especially if the games not an open world platform..which lets face its crysis 2 certainly was not..no more so than halo, only with far worse AI.

Yeah, not played crysis 1 but what i've seen of it the aliens definatly looked alot more inspired. The ones in crysis 2 are just boring. Hopefully theres a decent variety in crysis 3...or atleast add some personality to them - this is something i think halo's untouched in. I love the way they communicate with each other, and are recongnisable, act differently, according to their classes. I cant thing of another game that does that so well.

I think they wanted a reason for the aliens to use a weapon to shoot back at you thats why the design, and it failed.
In Crysis the aliens was more unique looking and behavior, and they could still shoot back at you.

In this video i think the scene were they hunt in pack in the grass is new, not sure but they look like it.

Wait, is this a trailer....for what will essentially be trailers? Hahaha, so lame.

Wasn't really a fan of 1 or 2, but I'll still give this a go since it looks good, and perhaps it will be tweaked to fix what didn't work for me in the other ones.

Unless they've COMPLETELY changed the AI, or removed the cloaking mechanic, i think it'll be just as broken tbh. I found the cloaking to be way overpowered in C2...hell, even C1. It just breaks the AI routines and behavior. Rather it not be there and have AI that was half decent.

Now that sounds like a true hardcore gamer who actually played Crysis 1 and Warhead and 2 on PC!!

That is definetly true, although the cloaking seems fun at first when you try to play seriously using your skills you start to realize just how broken the game is and how cheap the AI is.
