I'm glad at least they're adding strategy with the gadgets, maybe to distance from their mindless shooter history?

If you find this boring, then it's time to retire the controller.

I agree. Something about it just isnt clicking with me. Combat doesnt look satisfying at all. Driving looks tacked on (as it was in borderlands) and it just looks too static. Seems incredibly old school too, like duke nukem forever in its simplicity, but actually looks decent visually (unlike duke which looked like ass)

I need convincing atm. Hopefully we get a demo.

Yeah, unless it ain't got the "OMFG look at the cheesy motion and depth of field blur on that" or the "strawberry jam" blood effect that Kill Zone and COD et al have, then I suppose it's "old school". It's an open world FPS where you point a gun and shoot people and blow shit up. What more do you want?

I think it looks good, graphics are thick and solid, AI seems nice. I like how they have repeated a lot of footage to keep things secret.

But yeah in the end it's just another FPS, games have become uninspired. It's been tainted by greed, just like the movie industry.

Feed them the same crap, they'll eat it.

Something more, something better, something more 'alive', something more visually dynamic, something less straight forward, something different? (lets face it, borderlands and fallout has stolen a hell of a lot of this games thunder) as with ID games in general, this a tech demo masquerading as a game. Doom 3 was too. But doom 3 was half decent because even though it took forever to come out, nothing felt like it at the time. But this whole post apocolyptic FPS theme has been done twice already and done incredibly well. Will rage be doing enough to make it stand out aside from it's 60fps and blurry megatextures? I'm not sure.

I wont write it off completely, not yet anyway, but i'd like a demo. It's the only way i'll be convinced this isnt just doom 3 dressed up as borderlands.

This looks really good and it runs at 60fps. Tired of military shooters lol. I don't think I will get MW3 or BF3. Instead this and R3 as far as shooters go.

Such a long time coming on this game I feel like I've played it already, a couple times. Still, looks like fun, but, is it full price fun? I hope so!

go ahead, stick your head around that corner!

The guitar riff at the end is almost the same as the intro to No rest for the wicked - cage the elephant which of course was the tune in Borderlands.

Well for starters all this hype about super elite 3d engine thats better than anything other console devs have been doing but yet all of the maps look like walled up super corridors, conviniently hiding draw distance along with disappearing corpses to obviously replace the ones that spawn fest right after every kill.

As long as its not modern and realistic type, bring it :)

Though I would have prefered much more heavy sci fi.
Meaning like Prey 2, Mass Effect...etc. space, another planet, hostile aliens...etc. thats the type of sci fi I prefer.

There has not been even remotely close to enough of those yet to be legitimately "tired" of them at this point, especially if you skipped Fallout (I really don't understand the popularity of this one, sorry fans) and Borderlands like I did.

This looks great to me but the still not shown PS3 version will decide how far my interest goes, however to suggest that there is not room for a third post apocalypse title in a world crammed full of samey military shooters is fucking laughable.

Seriously, come on.

it's not a case of whether there is "room" for another post-apocolyptic shooter, there isnt exactly millions of them so that clearly isnt the issue, it's whether this is doing enough to make it stand out from the ones that are already out there. from day one this has made me think of borderlands. even stylistically it's incredibly similar. and with the vehicular combat it seems even more-so. and with the whole "vault/ark" similarities it's all a bit fallout too. when rage was just a twinkly in carmacks eye, i'm sure it was quite an original, innovative premis, but 2 games have been and gone that are very, VERY similar. so it isnt that there isnt room for the game. it's if it's offerings are going to be enough to make people care.

I think he once said Uncharted 2 was perfect for him, at least there is a game that he can play without thinking about flaws and such things.
