The huge Halo 3 ODST booth on the Gamescom showfloor was all about multiplayer. To see the first levels of the solo campaign, we had to sneak into the Microsoft hideout, safe from prying eyes. There, two lieutenants from Bungie gave us a fifteen minutes long presentation of this spin-off to the Master Chief's adventures, a spin-off which story runs parallel to Halo 2's. With its open world structure and daring flashback narrative, Halo 3 ODST doesn't fail to surprise, right from the long and intense introductory sequence that we offer you to discover just after the jump.
Update: Second part is online.

Commented on 2009-08-22 05:04:30Yes the graphics aren't great, but the gameplay looks a lot better than 3 to me.
Looking forward to part 3, if there is one.

Commented on 2009-08-22 06:24:34Pretty much what draws me to ODST is the firefight mode. I can really see the Halo style of gameplay working wonderfully with this style of play. That and of course the Reach beta is far too tempting.
Still pissed off about the price tag, but not much I can do about it. Damn capitalism lol.

You come to say that the SP doesn't up himself with each game and yet you aren't interested in ODST more than the Firefight. What ISN'T in this one, that is bot trying to be different and refreshing? Open-world, non-linear missions...

Commented on 2009-08-22 14:58:36I like the open-world but one question: will you get to use the Halo vehicles in this one? One would think so, but the fact that they teleported because they said the didn't have time to walk made me think otherwise. Why have a Warthog or Ghost nearby to jump into? Halo + GTA = Win
Also, what's with the saturation and contrast on this video? Normally the quality, even off-screen, is very good here at Gamersyde. What happened here? Oh well, great demo nonetheless.
Commented on 2009-08-22 16:12:14 In reply to phreakinpherI don't see any problem, except for the obvious fact that filming a screen with a wide angle is quite different from being in full frame.

The colours are washed out with a heavy blue tint. Oh and there's really low contrast though. I'm not complaining by the way, I thought the quality was pretty good.
EDIT: Should've refreshed.
