Video PS3

The release of God of War: Ascension being for this week, Sony decided to send us a best of video which shows the most memorable moments of the previous games of the franchise. Needless to say it contains major spoilers if you haven't played them all. Also, you should know that we will propose our own gameplay videos of Ascension on Wednesday, so stay tuned.

great vid sony ... but the thing about this game is that there are so many good moments for gamers that it's hard to make "the one and only top" whatever ...

I would surely put the ripping off of Helios's head in there but that's just me! :p

And lets not forget the beat down of the Sisters of Fate - the way that was set up in GOW 2 was both classic and epic!

After watching the full walkthrough of Ascension what a complete mess of a cash-in as expected.

I just hope they drop God of War franchise for a good while now and they make a new IP...meaning, different name, different protaganist and a completely new mythology. I say go for Norse myth since its the best option out there with very rich background that many dont know about yet may have heard of and i hope they do this with PS4, would be a good start.

@Sath - i heard it has only 4 bosses and all of them are crappy compared to these in previous games in main series. :/

Egyptian mythology or bust! I wouldn't mind if they give a break of Kratos, so we can finally get a main character with different combat moves.
:p

David Jaffe should be back. His GOW3 ending sounds so much better than what they choose to do with the story.

Egyptian is alright i guess but i rather see Norse Myth since it fits the action genre much more with whole warrior, valhalla, odin, thor...etc.

Both choices are good tbh. As long as they didn't continue with Greek mythology it's all good.

Should have this thursday, possibly wednesday. Should be done with tomb raider by then. Gimme gimme gimme. Been a long time since i've played something with such spectacle. If GOW does anything amazingly, it's spectacle. I do hope they try something different next gen though, heavenly sword please.

Both is good, but Norse Myth makes more sense they if warriors died and was great in battle, their souls gets to valhalla to odin and other great warriors, that along is a good reason to use norse myth since they have alot of warrior, battles, war...etc. similair more or less to greek myth...but better lol

That and keep Kratos away from it as long as possible.

A serious question about the series and PS4, What would extra spectacle afforded from even more power mean for fans. It seems that's what sells the game. Does there come a point when it starts to wane or does the idea of even more spectacle sound truly like what gamer's dreams are made of. It's definitely true that nobody does this stuff as well as the GOW team though

I would probably buy a next gen GOW because i do still enjoy the gameplay, even if it hasn't changed much. Plus it would look absolutely insane (they can achieve crazy things on current hardware, the thought of what they can do with PS4 is exciting imo) but it would potentially be the last i bought. Unless of course they introduced big changes. Unlike sath i still like kratos and the greek mythology premis so they could easily do more in that regard, but they'd need to change things up in other areas, add some veriety. Alternatively, work on something completely new. Not a fan of norse mythology at all really, but sony are sitting on the heavenly sword IP and doing absolutely nothing with it despite being the perfect franchise for santa monica to move onto it. Thats what i'd like to see from them tbh. Or the often rumoured new IP they've been working on for ages.

I do wonder just how much more impressive things can look when already they have this aspect looking so good. If anything it will be interesting to see what they do with the hardware

I'm gonna pick up my copy in about a hour from now. I just hope it's a decent God of War game..truth be told, I only bought God of War Ascension for it's demo of "The Last of Us".....that I have to wait until May 31st to play (just two weeks before the actual release of the complete game) :/
