Looks decent, but the screens look like the contrast is set too high or something. Borderlands 2 pulls off the cell shaded look much better though imo. Something about the characters looks plastic-y and kind of reminds me Bioshock...

I agree with KORN, looks much better than the first one because of the comic-book style they are going with compared to the realistic look. And it even looks more appealing!

Funny thing is, even with its style, they still managed to pull off the "dark" and gory look to it so its all good.

Anyways, can't wait!

I don't know if it's any point to comparing it to the first one since this has a completely different style. It's like comparing Borderlands to Battlefield Bad Company 2.
Still, I would say that screenshots from this game doesn't look as good as seeing this game in motion.

I know, what is the point. You can state that one looks better than the other all day long, but in the end it's just your opinion. The main difference in the game isn't the tech, it's the art style.

The original game had much more of a realistic, semi muted color palette and dark tone, while the sequel went for over saturated colors and a cell shaded comic book look, while still maintaining a somewhat dark tone. Personally, I prefer the first games art style, but mainly because I don't think the sequel does a very good job of cell shading. See Borderlands 2 for a game that does it well. That being said, I don't hate the look of the sequel and I wouldn't say someone is WRONG for preferring it...

Well the game is based on a comic book so in that sense is being true to its origins while the first was not.

Being said that you prefered an art style that was not meant for this game being its a comic inspired game.

NOthing wrong though.

I didn't state that the art style was WRONG, just that they don't pull it off well, therefore I prefer the first game. If they made it look as nice as Borderlands 2 I would be all over it. Instead the colors look way too over saturated, the textures are pretty weak, and the characters end up looking like they are made of plastic.

Also, I'm pretty sure that it isn't a rule that every game containing a comic book character HAS to be cell shaded. Batman Arkham Asylum is pretty much the best comic character game of all time, and wasn't cell shaded. The graphics were amazing because they used the combination of great technology and a great (non cell shaded) art style.
