GSY Video PC PS4 Xbox One

Tom Clancy's The Division will only be available to all tomorrow but Ubisoft sent us two unlocked codes for the PC version of the game so we could prepare a few gameplay videos. It's too soon to tell you how the game performs, but in the following extracts, you'll see that our rig (i5 4670K @ 4.1 GHz, 8 Go RAM, Windows 10, SLI Nvidia Geforce GTX 970 Gigabyte OC) is doing pretty well on ultra. That being said, we had a few frame rate issues towards the end of the prolog, but as it might be a problem on our end, we'll wait until we know more about what caused them. We may be live tonight playing the game, but we won't be able to confirm it until later today. Stay tuned.
Update 2: Added three videos showing the first Security wing mission, captured in Ultra by Miguel.

1080p.

The game was patched yesterday before we captured these. Not sure about the good implementation of the SLI. My problems seem to comz from the CPU, but during the beta I had à much smoother expérience with higher settings.

Again, it seems to be CPU bound, which wouldn't surprise me at all. It's just a bit unexpected because I didn't have any problem with the beta. Maybe they added some more demanding effects I don't know.

Lots of recent AAA open world games seem to create a CPU bottleneck these days, especially on i5 processors.. I've seen several reports that show that games like GTA-V, Witcher 3 and FallOut 4 etc all bottleneck on a i5, but not on a i7.. I saw it too when I upgrade my i5 3570k to a i7 6700K (with the same 980Ti), CPU usage in GTA-V went from 100% to max 70% and the stutters I had in the game at certain extreme settings were all gone.. I guess the age of a i5 being good enough for all PC gaming has come to an end, certain games really use (and need) those extra logical cores if you want to push things to the max.. I would not be surprised if this game did aswell..

yes. Maybe turn down a few bells and whistles? Should be pretty close to maxing it out w/ that setup.

I was running smooth at 1440p everything turned up to the max and even the most demanding AA solution. Ran like butter

It should be noted that "ultra" and "maxing out" the settings are two different things. Ultra profiles are almost never truly maxed out settings. And the super sampled AA solution is a performance killer but not needed at 1440p based on the beta.

I am surprised by how well this is doing on Steam. It's encouraging me to pick it up.

It's a fun game. I still have my reservations, but the shooting and cover system is really well done. I'm wondering if I'll be bored of this game in a week, we will see.

True, Ultra settings usually does not mean maxed out.. There's very little new AAA games I can truely 100% max out on my 980Ti @1440p, but tweak a few settings down with minimal graphical effect and the games usually run pretty good.. Things like (SS)AA and shadows settings etc usually are the biggest performance-killers..

It gets mixed reviews on Steam, that's not what I call doing well?!? I'm still on the fence on this one, I'm waiting for the 1st reviews by certain sources I trust before I decide.. Also depends on a few friends who still need to get it, as I want to co-op it and not just play solo.. No rush, I do not need to play it from day 1..

Referring to sales/player count. It's putting up very good numbers:

https://steamdb.info/app/365590/graphs/

And it's not even a Steamworks title... so there are probably tens of thousands of additional users uncounted here. The user reviews on Steam seem to be knee-jerk reactions to launch night downtime and/or "the downgrade" controversy... which I can't believe we're still talking about.

There's an option to turn off the automatic reboot.. which should help you at least read the error code.

I'd need to see the error code, but sounds like your memory might be pooping out.

I'm up to several different...started out with memory_management stop: 0x0000001a, and a few other strings in parentheses. Then after disabling the virtual memory, i got an IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL, same stop. Did the verifier and it said there was a driver attempting to corrupt system and refused to boot. So I had to system restore and i'm back to square one...i'm on the verge of formatting and reinstalling windows >.< But, it seems to tweak whenever I do something with the video card...including updating its driver.

Ya I used to get this error, and it was due to the memory going bad. I replaced them with new DIMMs and the error disappeared. Hope this helps.
