WTF is going on with this game? The texture work and shadows just look... bad. I can't tell if it's intentional or if I'm correct in thinking that it just looks poor.

Agree with you there. There's something wrong with the screenshots. Looks like a game set on the lowest quality settings at a 640 resolution. No AA.

Looks super weird, yeah. From the gameplay they showed earlier it looked fine to me, so i'm not especially worried about that.

That aside, i'm glad to see a larger publisher picking up what seems to be an actual horror title. What with all the Resident Evils and Dead Spaces we've had lately i'm genuinely interested.

it doesnt LOOK very good, and based on gameplay video's it doesnt move very well (shitty animations) but i'm giving it the benefit of the doubt in the hopes it's an actual survival horror. but so help me god, if this is just a resi 4 reskin i'll be pissed off.

This reminds me of when I first played GTA 3 on pc and because monitor resolution was much higher than texture resolution(That game being developed for PS2) there being horribly pixelated textures in much of the game. Including claude, who looked like he was wearing an 8-bit outfit.

I also didn't think the gameplay video looked so hot. That's sad. I remember resident evil on PS1 being a game that my PS1 owning friend at the time owned but we could never bring ourselves to play because it was too scary. I was hoping for a return of that type of experience but guess I'll have to look to Red Barrels and Frictional to deliver decent horror experiences in the future.

i know, that wall in the second shot looks like some shit from minecraft.

shadows are dithered. cheap and nasty way to do soft shadows.
