The animations are SO bad. It's on my order list though. Can always cancel my order if it continues to look unpolished.

I just read an interview with mikami saying it was REmake's underwhelming sales (a game exclusive to a unpopular, piss poor selling console) that lead to the changes that ultimately brought about the action focused RE4/5/6. I guess once they got those sales figures they went from their original haunted house concept for RE4 and made it all "bang bang, pow pow". Fuck that series.

Resident evil 4 and the first dead space are the perfect balance of horror but with natural feeling gameplay. Dead space is a great example of a game having plenty of action yet still feeling like a true horror experience. But I'm sure there is still a strong niche market for old school horror it just wouldn't sell well enough to warrant a high budget.

Dead Space was better than Resident Evil 4 (at least, some aspects), if we talks about "pure horror". Resident Evil 4 was the father of another genre that changed forever industry.
Anyway, Resident Evil 3.5 was the real Resident Evil 4...

Looks decent. The little things like visuals and inconsistencies don't bother me too much, although they may have shown too much for my liking. That opening sequence would've been really tense if I hadn't already watched the entire thing play out.

The only thing that bothers me about the gameplay is the combat. They seem to rely on gimped controls and overly powerful enemies (3 headshots?) rather than properly balancing the game. How many times did you see the player shoot and miss one of those zombie things from 3 feet away? Not a good sign...

Which RE would that be ? Code Veronica or maybe Zero (or even Outbreak lol) ? Anyway, RE2 and CV sure are my favs on that list, aside from the REmake.

he's talking about the original concept for RE4, the one in the house with the hook ghost and possessed dolls.

Gameplay looks like RE4, but the environments are a definite return to the old resident evil. This is exactly how RE6 should have been.
