DEAR GOD HOW DOES THAT FIRST SHOT LOOK SO AWFUL??? That looks hideous! I hope that's not how the whole game will look on consoles. Poor console gamers :( The rest looks okay, but it all has that early PS3 look before anyone really figured out how to make games run on the systems.

You do know this game will be on next gen consoles too? I'm confident the garphics for the PS4 will be amazing.

No he's right. That first screenshot looks like it was upscaled from the Nintendo DS.

On second thought, I was blindsided by how bad that first screenshot is. Rest of what he said is a bit off.

Yeah, he was right about the first pic looking like garbage, but then he lost me when he went on a typical PC elitist rant. The PS4 is gonna shut up alot of PC fanboys...well maybe not shut them up, but will make some eat crow.

I really doubt that. I'm a PC elitist -- not really elitist but whenever the machine is more powerful the games look better. Not anything new but who doesn't know that already so I don't need to restate it every time a game is announced.

PS4 won't do any damage what so ever to the PC.

Saying that though it's still going to be a great little machine to own and this game looks absolutely bloody class! Can not wait for this, welcome back horror you have been missing too long in the world of games...

I hope we get to see it on motion. It does not feel like these screenshots do the game justice.

I love me some zombies, although I'm not entirely sold on the design of these ones. There's something very Resident Evil 4 about the one holding the torch, although I do like the inclusion of the disembodied glow on the eyes. Gives it an extra creepy edge. That thing with four arms looks freaky as fuck, though. Hopefully they save the old shambler zombie from the original RE for a next gen game. I mean, the tech is now there to include some really gruesome stuff as far as they are concerned, and it's about time a new breed of survival horror comes out that actually shocks people again like the original RE back in '96 did.

Not sold on the look of this at all, looks very generic and boring. And WTF is up with that first picture? Horrendous lack of AA!

I don't give a fuck about the graphics and they look more than ok, anyway. What I want is a good game, that's the only thing that matters.

Why is it bad to have a game look like a PS2 game? Maybe that's what they were aiming for?

Why should games align themselves with the current graphical expectations?

Clearly people need to stop with the Head-Up-Ass-Syndrome and REALLY look at some DS and PS2 games. This does NOT look like anything a PS2 or DS could pull off.

That said, it doesn't look state-of-the-art or mindblowing. It looks a lot like the past couple of Silent Hill games, which are squarely in the middle of the "current gen" pack and certainly not "next gen".

I laughed for a bit, then I realized you may be right. What's scarier than seeing a 300x240 image upscaled on a 1920x1080 screen? Nothing.

And for the record the first screenshot looks horrendous, the rest look in order. Attackers and defenders need to chillax.

That looks alarmingly low rent, like one of those low budget no name Japanese horror games from unknown developers.

It just seems like some folks can be a bit one dimensional when it comes to how games look.

Can low end graphics not be used for thematic &/or aesthetic purposes? Look at something like Hotline Miami, or Teleglitch. They maybe low budget indie games with not much choice in tech, but they are still very much designed for that.

Seems to me like a Horror game would work pretty well with low end graphics.

There is a difference between low end visuals being used as an aesthetic and design choice and low end just looking like shit. This game will probably end up looking great, but these blatantly over scaled screenshots aren't helping things. It looks like a vita game scaled to 1080p. Nasty on the eyes.

That's really silly. Low end graphics aren't an art style. I don't think these graphics are low end for current gen consoles though. The examples you mentioned are retro style games. If retro was what you meant to say, okay then. But poor graphics are just that, poor graphics.

With Bethesda being a big publisher people are going expect them to push the envelope next-gen. If this is just going to have next-gen ports then people will rightfully be disappointed.

ahhh games like this are inevitable as the scare factor for humans increases greater and greatly with each Saw, Silent Hill, and whatever blood fest, blood spilling genre, gets released these days ... but like the first guy said

- it looks sick!! :D

Oh..well..I don't like PC gaming..*points* No One does. Just kidding, It's a fact that PC's graphics are miles better than consoles, but next gen may considerably close the gap....hopefully. ^_^
