GSY Review Xbox 360 PS3

I'm sorry to say that I have not been able to find time to translate my review of Assassin's Creed III to English, so you guys will have to do with my conclusion and with our usual first 10 (or is 30) minutes video, plus a nice but *very* spoiler-ish video of some of Desmond's stuff.

Verdict

I finished the main story of the game in a bit less than 20 hours, with a synchronisation level of 45 and dozens and dozens of secondary missions and things to find still waiting for me. It's simply impossible for me to list all there is to do in this game, and I can't wait to go back to them, especially since new ones appeared after the incredibly long credits roll! So despite the many small-ish technical issues, the lack of polish of quite a few elements of the game and a very one dimensional character I had a lot of fun playing this new Assassin's Creed title. I still think Brotherhood is the best of the series, mostly thanks to Ezio's character, but this episode is quite close.

Climbing unnoticed across a fully attended theatre ?
Yea, that sure would work... Other than that it looks pretty much AC-ish - surprise... Jade Raymond still in charge of this ?

Jade Raymond was only producer of the first AC game, as far as I know. She sure had nothing to do with AC3, that's for sure since she is now the head of Ubisoft Toronto, and works on the new Splinter Cell game.

When I saw this I shook my head and decided, right there and then, that I was going to skip ACIII and spend my money on HALO 4. I found the first 30 minutes or so utterly boring!

From what i seen, boring as hell.
It takes many hours and sequences just to be able to control Connor, not even a fully adult assassin version Connor.

Just hours of tutorial and slow stuff, tbh i dont have patience for it and I thought this one would be great, but from the walkthroughs on youtube its nothing but a dissapointment.
Only thing i like about the new one from the stuff i seen is Connor's running animations and the animations when he goes from tree to tree, thats about it.

But AC1 was getting boring to me anyways, AC2 bored me quickly, the rest is history, seems the franchise isnt for me. Only AC game i finished was AC1.

It's always hard to beat an already solid/good original with a sequel, even with all gadgets and improvements being thrown into the game. MW was like this, ME was like this, Skate... the list goes on... Just like with movie sequels.

Incredible wallpapers Blim, nice summary too, do you think is better than AC2?

I didn't liked AC:B or AC:R so IMO it peaked at AC2 unless this one is better.

According to Blim:

ACB>AC2>AC3>ACR>AC

It is of course purely subjective. AC3 is very close to AC2 in his heart from what he told me, but ACB really is the one AC game he prefers.

Well I can do better. Here is what Blim said exactly on Gaf:

AC Brotherhood > AC2 ~ AC3 > AC Revelations >>> AC1
I know that many people will disagree with me putting ACB at the top, but I really liked that game and thought that the brotherhood stuff added a lot.
So you might want to reconsider not buying the game right away. :)

...and AssCreed 3 get 9's and 10's in almost every review. How surprising, eh?

I agree with @Sath - there is absolutely nothing interesting about AC3. Only game in the series that i liked was part 2. Never finished Brotherhood and Revelations. The boredom in these games almost killed me. :(

Is there still a huge amount of tearing on the PS3 like the previous AC games?

Jade actually still had a major role on Assassin's creed II. They did comedy together,

i think Patrick D. walked out on Brotherhood and raymond went to dominatrix that Splinter Cell Trainwreck two years ago.

But you should know better, you are french and may as well have her contacts.

1080p supersampled screens? neither. they are from a pc from the future, or a current high-end pc that if you tried to runthe game with that image quality it would be in the single digits framerate.

I had grown tired of AC and afraid this one would bore me quickly. Well so far so good, really really good actually. Very impressed with alot of things in this one. Graphics are at times incredibly impressive, especially the 'First 10 minutes part 3' that part looks brilliant. The atmosphere is top notch, you see NPC's doing their different jobs, you see some random encounters like a kid stealing some apples.

Combat wise..yes..still piss easy, BUT....fun actually. I was fighting this enemy and he tumbled over objects and what not, it looked really cool and much better than any AC. I'm glad we finally get bloodspatters on the ground now and also blood/wounds in the spot where you insert your sword/hidden blade/spear etc, nice details i apreciate. So far very happy with my purchase.

I knew it ,AC can't beat red dead on consoles ... i know these two games are different in gameplay but somehow AC wanted to try and produce a detailed open world game such as red dead , but sadly failed .
is it really hard for anvil next engine to beat euphoria ?

In what have they failed? Cause it really reminds me of RDR indeed, and i really find it very impressive. Details, the atmmosphere,. Boston really feels 'alive' so to speak. So i'm not sure what you mean.

I'm a big fan of AC and i had the same idea before i played it on consoles , looks like they are reproducing (adding more details) the game for PC , making a game such as RDR that runs on consoles with this details is somehow a gret job , but AC3 couldn't do the same , compared with RDR, Ac3 is an epic fail .

As much as i love RDR, it wasn't as 'crowded' as ACIII so far is, Boston seems ALOT more crowded than cities in Rockstar. I'm still a bit puzzled what you mean...you mean the detail is much better in RDR? I've only just arrived in Boston and did some exploring but i'm finding it a huge improvement over the previous installments.
