best halo by a loooooong way, maybe best xbox shooter?? not sure yet, still have 4-5 missions left in campaign but so far it has been superb

Halo 1 was the best shooter of its time (on consoles). Halo 2 and 3's campaign keep me from making that oversimplification. Halo 3's multiplayer was excellent, but I'm primarily a campaign kind of guy and Halo 2 and 3's disappointed me to no ends. Empty promises and a lack of that back to the wall feeling that the ads would have you believe left me feeling empty. Halo Reach looks to recapture the glory of Halo 1 and I am excited.

Halo 3's campaign was enjoyable but a bit of a misstep for me too. They took the easy way out far too many times w/ the plot, but I still thought it was very fun.

MW2 was dissapointing as hell, way too short campaign mode and the multiplayer was also dissapointing, of course all in my book.

Mine too, though the single player was nice though. Short, but pretty "hollywood" like as usual which I liked.

The fact that this version was purchased and not sent, thus not allowing a review doesn't matter that much. Just give it time to play, i bet everyone will read it with a better eye when all this Reach, reach, reach tide clams down.

Not that i've played much of either Modern Warfare or it's successor, but i could never get past the stupid kill streaks. Why the f*** do they award the guy who is obviously already doing fine? It just takes the competition and breaks it over a knee, and that's not mentioning fucking character progression in a competitive shooter. No, Modern Warfare seems like a complete casual-fest and i'm not interested. Halo 3 had some pretty sweet multiplayer and i hope the same is found here, without any retarded panderings to the crowd that needs a pat on the back every 5 seconds to keep interest up in a game. If anyhting they should have bloody death streaks. Die 10 times in a row and get a homing scud rammed up the top players ass.

Also i didn't watch the video, wouldn't want to spoil anything when i know i'll be getting the game soon :P

Graphics look like a real step up from Halo 3. I thought it would look more bland, but the environments look very detailed. I'm impressed.

I 100% agree. I sometimes just can't believe the direction developers take games.

Having said that I still enjoy playing COD. Singleplayer is a romp, and MP can be a good fun. But it's no where close to what I wish such a shooter would be.

i like Halo and I am getting Reach "DAY 1" but I am never that excited to play it. it's just kind standard now to lean back on some Halo when I get bored of the other standard shooters.

Any thing I play now a days is just to fill in the wait until Fallout New Vegas is released.

No way i'm touching that game... i'm still shy of 1000 Gamerscore on F3... and still have the expansions to play. 80 hours in. -_-

I see what you mean and fully agree. I hate killstreaks in MW2, and therefore Barebones is a very welcome game-mode in the MP. The thing is...sadly in Black Ops there will still be killstreaks...sigh

Killstreaks aren't really a problem. What is a problem is the fact that the better perks and weapons take time to unlock. This creates a compounded disadvantage in games between those with limited play time and those who played longer. And the fact of the matter is that the matchmaking for CoD is not up to snuff so you are oftentimes pitted against a guy twenty levels above you who has some bullshit perk like martyr and a one hit kill sniper rifle. Halo doesn't do this and I welcome this fact.
