The First 10 Minutes: Two Worlds 2

The First 10 Minutes: Two Worlds 2

Two Worlds 2 has finally been released on consoles and PC and it is with great pleasure that we can show you the beginning of the adventure in its 360 version. After bad ports such as Risen or Gothic 4, we feared it might be the same with this RPG but thankfully, this time it is different. Sure, the console versions do not look as sharp as the PC one, but the developers have done a great job anyway. The game looks good, the framerate is smooth overall and playing with a controller is not a bad experience at all. More videos will follow tomorrow because you are worth it.
Update: Parts 2 and 3 added.

Apparently this is (surprisingly) good.

i was one of the few who liked the first one, and i've heard this game fixes most of the issues found within it. so i'm pretty certain i'll like this too. kinda looking forward to it tbh. i've tried some other similar games that came out since the first game like risen and gothic 4 and they all where incredibly boring/poorly made (even more so then the first two worlds)

So far this game impresses me more than the Witcher 2 or Dragon Age 2....Is it ok to buy it right now or wait for NA release in January? That 10 min looks sold me on the game

Can't wait to part 2, the games looks realy good, minus some akward animation and modeling.

Looks like quite a big step up form the first game. The one thing that really stands out though is how awful the cutscenes are. I mean, who directed that? Might give it a try, though. Looks like it could be a decent game :)

The combat animation starts out looking crap because you only have a couple of moves, once you find skillbooks though it starts getting really, really good. Pole-arms especially.

I don't know... The animations are a bit crude but from what I can see it has an odd charm to it. I mean, the elder scrolls games have always been very crude at best but I've invested hundreds of hours in each one of those. Will keep an eye out for this, see how it reviews.

Awesome game, i bought it on launch day and it took alittle while to get into, but then when thats done, it's awesome. In the long run it could top Oblivion for me.

Am I getting this right, no choice of a hero again (male/female)? Just one plain ugly guy to play? For f*** sake...

does look good visually. And the framerate's clearly better than the first. Combats abit janky though. Makes me appreciate what SK did with two humans combat - which is still my favourite looting game

Turdastic animations with no sense of impact whatsoever? I really liked the addiction that mixed bag of too human give in midst of all the crap it gave too, but combat looking better than here? hell no dawg.

I got it for my Xbox 360 and of course it's nowhere near as good looking as the PC version (on a sick high end machine, i mean) but it plays very well. I've never seen such short loading times and smooth framerates in a RPG like this on console.

the answer this, can you tell if it sub-hd? jaggies? tearing? slow-downs?

If you didn'd, download Arcania: Gothic 4 demo and give it a whirl, just to see how better (if any, of course) it is.
Commented on 2010-11-30 00:21:54
Oh trust me, Arcania is a disaster compared to Two Worlds II on 360. I played the demo of Arcania awhile ago. I am not sure if it's sub-HD, but it looks pretty good if you ask me. It destroys Arcania in terms of graphics, framerate, voice acting and what not.

It has some tearing and some jaggies now and then i guess, but honestly...for a console game it really looks quite good and the framerate is surprisingly smooth though, with a few exceptions here and there, but compared to Arcania in that aspect? Two Worlds of difference :P

Really like what I saw in part 1,will be watching part 2 soon. Hopefully the PS3 version will be this well,I'm impressed so far with what they've done with limited resources.

So, can you customize your hero? or do you have to play the fembot we saw in the vids?
