Sega was nice enough to send us a review copy of Virtua Fighter 5 on Friday, and I'm happy to show you guys the beginning of the Quest mode. Visually the game is 99% identical to the PS3 version, maybe a bit shaper looking but that's it. As for the playability the 360 pad isn't the best out there for precise controls, but using an arcade stick or simply "modding" it with a knife and sandpaper helps tremendously. This game is a definite must buy for fans of the genre who don't have the PS3 game or want a quite good online experience.
More videos will follow tonight or most likely tomorrow, this time encoded at 60 fps.

The online part is amazingly good.

Commented on 2007-10-28 23:55:17I was a huge fan of VF2 on the Saturn. I'm happy Sony didnt bankrupt them completely by crushing both the Saturn and the Dreamcast. It's sad that the people who helped annihilate Sega's console business (Playstation-fans) get to enjoy/disrespect their best efforts. Pearls to the... you know.
Yes I love Sega.

Commented on 2007-10-29 02:30:54And I'm with Jolli on the can't praise enough bit. It really is so good I catch myself spontaniously laughing of joy. The offline quest mode and online vs stuff complement eachother so beautifully. You head offline to snazz up your outfit and then go back online to rise in online ranks. It's hysterically addictive.
Ironically I always figured the online would be standard laggy bolt on fare here, and more of a necessary evil to get this into people's homes than anything. On the contrary though, now I spend the most time online and about 30% in the quest mode and offline VS mode. Excellent job Sega, I applaud thee.

Commented on 2007-10-29 09:09:16P.S. I haven't noticed any differences in the texture filtering between both versions, they look pretty much identical to me.
