this is looking a LOT better since the first time i saw some footage of it. I hope the fighting mechanics won't be too unrealistic. I really would love a realistic medieval fighting "sim", perhaps a littlebit like the old bushido blade series.

Pic 4= Worst. Guards. Ever. Lol, I wonder what gamers would do if guards in games actually acted like real guards do, lol...

Stealth in chainmail? That is literally the hardest thing ever...

Otherwise this looks like it could be cool. By which I mean the engine is competent. Lol at the CoD 4 level in the last picture.

it doesnt look TOO bad, but based on all the other 3rd person action RPG's i've played the last couple of years i have a feeling it'll run like shit. just like risen, just like gothic4, just like dragon age origins, just like two worlds (btw, the sequel got 92% from some german magazine) set an open world game in this medieval, swords and sorcery setting and it seems to be destined to have a shitty framerate.

@digi_matrix: Yup, I play that a LOT on my PC :) Mount and Blade owns! But I want more like it, and besides, its still an RPG ( a frikking good one), something with hit points is not that realism that i meant.
@pythxvii: stealth in chainmail can work. I am a reenactor, and believe me, if your chainmail fits and is built 6in1 (6 rings into 1), it is quite silent. If the edges of the chainmail are leathered, it's even more silent. The things which make it completely unrealistic are the shield, the partial plate armor, and the sword on the back (omg, bomb down hollywood for that ;). These things would "hit" on the chainmail and be the loudest parts. The chainmail itself just needs smooth movement to be silent.

Haemimont Games made none of the games you just mentioned, so it's a stupid statement to make.

I didn't realise that swords and shields had such a major impact on framerate.

how so, open world action RPG's have ALL suffered major performance issues. across multiple developers, using multiple engines. oblivion, risen, gothic, two worlds, sacred. obviously there is no *real* correlation between the setting and the performance (i was making a joke), but there is plenty of evidence to show those sorts of games run like crap (due to their scope). and i cant imagine this will be an exception to that pretty sad rule.
