Without a word since 2008 and the prototype video, The Unfinished Swan is back with a trailer and screenshots. The game is about exploring the unknown and painting a white world. Though the latter is only the first 15 minutes according to the studio, after that it gets more weird. The title will come out on PSN later this year.

I wonder going with a fantasy land will do for the monochrome aesthetic. I'm not expecting deep gameplay, more of a narrative ride like Dear Esther but who knows, this game might have gotten a boost in ambition because of Santa Monica studios.

Commented on 2012-05-03 19:27:11Much like Journey, The Witness, Limbo, Fez, Braid, etc. it's moody, obtuse and builds a short experience out of a simple mechanic and realtime narrative.
I'm happy somebody is doing games that get back to fine-tuning mechanics and back to storytelling through the game versus throwing story AT you, while you go through a kill tunnel.
