Cinematic third person takedowns, slow-mo and scripted escape sequences. This game truly has everything I've ever wanted from a Thief game.

I hope that was the current gen version. Game would have been more than likely better on Unreal 4.

It certainly wasn't current-gen console footage, no way consoles can produce graphics that crisp. I think it's the next-gen version, but kinda underwhelming yeah.

Was being a tad sarcastic correct. It does look 1080p crisp alright but the Unreal 3 engine can only go so far now. Looks an awful lot like the Batman Arkham games because of the game engine and mood.

it's not exactly jaw dropping visually, but i think it looks pretty nice. i just wish it wasn't so grey. got it ordered though, can't say no to thief. i just hope the re-boot is as good as deus ex was.

Have you actually seen the previews on various sites? Game looks to be fairly open.

If by fairly open you meant "restricts when and where you can jump and use rope arrows" then yeah it does look open.

That size of that level they keep joking is a joke compared to most TDP and TMA levels and then there's the cinematic escape sequence filled with QTEs...

Tough crowd in here. I think that looks visually superb, and in no way can anyone seriously look at that and think "current gen" straight away. It's most certainly PC/next gen gameplay.

graphics look bad to say they are next gen

specially when you compare other next gen games we have seen to this

see I don't mind next gen games that are not graphically based like with knack BUT when it comes to games like this the graphics need to be top notch

I am not paying for a game that does not look next gen

I reccomend you guys check out the Doom 3 mod called The Dark Mod, it's the true spiritual successor to Thief. And best thing is that it is now standalone, you don't even need Doom 3 to play it.

Looks like a lukewarm return for a thief game much like thief 2 was I guess.

I can't even comprehend this kind of thinking. It seems incredibly shortsighted to me, to just poo-poo a game because it's not rendering top end graphics.

I mean, some folks talk like it's a case of the developer leaving the "Best Graphics" option set to "Off".

Then you haven't a clue what you're looking at. I can't put that any other way, so I'm sorry if that comes across as being a bit rude, but it's the truth. There are enough visual clues in that video that make it clear enough that it is next generation. There is not a single game on current gen that looks like that. Not one. Obviously your expectations of what is possible were a bit distorted to say the least.

I wonder why, in a game clearly set in medieval Europe, so all the characters speak with American accents...
