GSY Video

Since we were lent the Sonic the Hedgehog 25th Anniversary Genesis (Mega Drive) by AtGames, we thought you might want to see what some of the 80 games included in the console look like today. Sadly for Streets of Rage and Ecco fans, this special edition of the console does not include the games of the 2 famous franchises, contrary to the other version presented on the manufacturer's website. Instead, you'll get Phantasy Star 2, Phantasy Star 3 and Sonic 3D Blast (plus a few other minor changes in the list of games). Unlike the recently released NES Classic Mini, you'll also be able to use the original cartridges (well, most of them) if you still own any.

• Alex Kidd in the Enchanted Castle
• Alien Storm

If you're not seeing this article on the homepage, it means you have to initialize the filters:

The reason is we don't have the system in our database, so it's possible the news article doesn't show.

Does it come with any image enhancements or filtering options ?
I noticed there are also 2 gamepad ports present. Why though ?
Supposed you still have 2 old controllers, can you play 4P games ?
Looking at the Audio/TV jacks, how do you even connect it to a TV?
LOL, and are those homebrew games on the 2nd list ?

Probably for if you want to play with original controller and/or not want to be using the bloody IR sensors on the pads that come with it :P

No filtering options no.

2 wireless controllers are included in the package but the original gamepads are compatible (and so much better than the cheap ones they give). Not sure you can play with 4 players, I doubt it even.

To connect to a TV you either need your TV to have composite connections. The poblm is that most TVs don't anymore. My receiver has one, but I got no signal for some unknown reason. I was sent an composite to HDMI converter, which can be a bit costly (€40), to be able to play on Blim's ex 4K OLED TV.

If this thing at least had RGB out it would be a lot nicer. And it would probably cost a lot more :)

Blim's ex 4K OLED TV.
You just had to steal that TV from him, didn't you?! Now I see how Gamersyde works, poor Blim. :P

Well, that's too bad and a missed opportunity. The NeoGeoX and NES Classic Mini were both ok but this is meh at best. May I comfort you over the absence of SoR with the OST of SoRR then ? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JWBf7Ncd8UE&index=...

The Mega Drive was mono too when plugged in to the TV.

Through an RF cable mainly. Scart had stereo and the first mega drive even had a headphone socked for direct stereo sound.
