Old gamers like me will shed a tear of joy when they learn that the French developpers of Golgoth Studio are currently working on a remake of Toki, one of the great classics of the late eighties and early nineties. For those of you who weren't born at the time of the Golden Age of video gaming, Toki deals with the adventure of a poor young man who has been turned into a monkey by a mean sorcerer by the name of Vookimedlo. The evil sorcerer also kidnapped the hero's girlfriend and the game is about this quest towards humanity and love - the kind of pitch you don't see that often nowadays. There seems to have been quite a huge amount of work done in redesigning the game's looks and the first images are rather exciting. The game has just been announced on XBLA and PC for the moment.

I played it back in the days on my much beloved Atari Lynx, hehe.. Though, I never made it to the end of the game; to hard and frustrating at the time (didn't have the patience to keep trying back then ;))
The remake looks awesome, so far!! Hope the animations will be good as well
I had this on the genesis, and i must say i have mixed feelings about this. The nostalgia is pretty high, but was the game really that good?
Looking forward to seeing Earthworm jim
I suppose Mechwarrior will have to suffice for now.
EDIT: I'd love to see Flashback for Genesis turned into 2D HD
