Eidos and Crystal Dynamics released this brand new Tomb Raider Legend trailer, from the old xbox version, proving that the game at least has some very good animations.
Hard to tell the quality... wont be a top tier game graphically, but if it plays well then it could be fun for fans of the genre. Personally not interested, kind of underwhelmed (even by current standards) but there are a couple nice shader effects here or there.
This aint gonna cut it, i couldnt tell if i was looking at the 360 version or the regular xbox version. I dont know how the gameplay will play but some of the animations are alright why others are borderline bord em and the graphics are dull. This trailer didnt do anything for me, i dont come out feeling like i want to see more or anything. Then again i never was a big Tomb Raider fan.

I'm a mod at tombraiderforums.com so I know this game pretty well. And I definately know the difference between current and next gen visuals. The trailer is from current gen PS2/Xbox.
I swear you 360 people don't deserve decent games, all you do is complain about the graphics and judge it's gameplay from a trailer.
If this game looks like crap i will still buy it bcause i have always like tomb raiders, if it doesn't interest you don't buy it, all the graphics in the world won't change the fact that its not your type of game.
Jolli, a bit of advice: If there's news about a game you'll potentially really like/like a lot/love, don't bother checking the comment sections. I've given up on doing that a long time ago because if there's something you can count on 70% of xboxyders to do, it's slag every game off and leave you staggering in ultimate depression.
It's become such a huge problem to me, I actively do what I just told you. Quality doesn't matter, the fact that a series has a good following doesn't matter (some people here strike me as first time ever console owners with no respect for what companies or franchises have done in the past, and even WAY less for new, promising games) and perhaps most of all, all that matters is how the game happens to look and come across in stills.
It's as if half of the people here don't even have 360s, because for me.. I play these games. I have 10 games which is some kind of personal record in the timeframe the release of the console and now, and I'm playing them. When I start playing, the visual impact of the game is replaced by HAVING FUN or NOT HAVING FUN within 10 minutes, and the bashing of games on this site is suddenly so amazingly pointless.
People write off the new Tomb Raider game after looking at a trailer and determining that they don't pursue accurate Angelina Jolie realism but instead go for the stylized look Lara always was shooting for but never could faithfully reproduce in realtime as if it fucking matters! It's insane! Most of all it's evident that there just no understanding for what Tomb Raider has tried to achieve visually.
I can only stand a handful of people on this site as far as insightful, respecful, honest and informed opinions and comments go. That doesn't mean they don't have differing opinions from mine, but rather that they have real opinions backed up by respectful arguments rather than blurting out some misinformed bullshit whenever screens are released of a game that they don't know first thing about.
I can accept and embrace the notion that the rest are half-witted kids scampering around. And yeah, I've stopped paying attention to their comments.

Yea for people that are suppose to like the console things can get overly harsh at times in regards to certain titles. People are so picky at times the smallest sign of imperfection and they take the game's head off =P Being critical is a good thing, but its sometimes overdone. Its best to stay positive in regards to all the 360's games hoping they'll turn out good anyway regardless of how they look while in development.

There's nothing wrong with criticism of a game if the argument is sound and the game is very close to completion. It's just simply the other side of the coin. Some will hype up a game so much I feel it's good for others to downplay it a little.
The problem I see around here, though, is you get a bunch of hooligans tossing around the term next-gen as if they even had an inkling of an idea what that meant. I can't define next-gen and I'm sure as hell no one here can either. They don't back up what they say, and when they do it's with rendering effects that are completely irrelevant to the style of the game. There's just simply isn't a defining line between current gen and next gen.
Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like this site is above this either, but they're not too bad about it. Ziria doesn't look like garbage like how many people have said it looks to be, and there's probably a good reason Ubisoft is also bringing Over G over to the states. I just hope Ziria and enchant arm gets brought over as well.
Anyways, it just seems like people who own PS2s are much more happy about their system than those who own an xbox. I'm not just talking the library of games, but the console itself, as the PS2 is the worst in terms of graphics. I think M$ realizes that they can't rely on a more powerful system to be the winning factor in the console wars and have shifted focus from being the best to being the broadest. Having signed on D3 and other small time publishers and developers is good, you'll have games that'll cater to the graphic whores, and ones to the gameplay whores. Remember kids, no one FORCES you to buy a game, but having more options is NEVER a bad thing.
