Trailer PS4 Xbox One Xbox 360 PS3

Today, Activision offers us a gameplay trailer and some screenshots of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5. The game will be released on PS4, Xbox One, PS3 and Xbox 360 on September 29.

ACTIVISION PUBLISHING, INC. RELEASES FIRST GAMEPLAY TRAILER FOR TONY HAWK’S® PRO SKATER™ 5

SANTA MONICA, Calif. – July 13, 2015 – Today Activision Publishing, Inc. has shared a new gameplay trailer for Tony Hawk’s® Pro Skater™ 5. Backed with punk band Plague Vendor’s track “Black Sap Scriptures,” the video shows skateboarding pros and hidden characters, classic trick combos in brand-new levels, and tons of skaters ripping together. Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 is expected to arrive in North America on September 29, 2015 for the PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system and Xbox One, the all-in-one games and entertainment system from Microsoft.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 rekindles the signature style of classic Pro Skater games in a brand-new set of levels with the same renowned focus on daring objectives and fine-tuned controls – including manuals and reverts – for endless sessions and high-scoring tricks. Expansive, seamless online multiplayer means you can quickly jump into the action with up to 20 friends and challengers at one time. Pretty much everything you could do in single-player in past THPS games, you can now do online with friends in THPS5, like missions, unlocking new content, and leveling up... or if your skills are on point, go head-to-head against all takers in competitive matches. Adding to the online insanity, you can create your own skateparks, then share them with the community. If your creation is good enough, you might find the Birdman himself in there nailing 900s! Shredders, take note: the online features are exclusive to the PlayStation®4 and Xbox One versions of the game.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 will be available for PlayStation®4 and Xbox One for $59.99. For the Xbox 360 games and entertainment system from Microsoft and PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system versions, confirmation of exact release dates will follow, but are anticipated to release prior to the end of the year. The Xbox 360 and PlayStation®3 versions will not have online play and are priced $20 less than the PlayStation®4 and Xbox One versions.

Is the game confirmed to be 60fps? If not, it really is a step down from the PS2 versions then isn't it?
Edit: I just realise the trailer is so hopefully this is the case then. At least it has that going for it then.

i always hated the skate games compared to this series. was it more faithful to skateboarding? sure...more fun? no. this looks visually awful though and isn't the return of the franchise i wanted. no matter how cool 20 player simultanious online sounds

That's cool. I'm one of those people who consider EA pretty much the destroyers of fun due to their inclusion of stamina bars and their "lets stick fucking analogue stick moves on every fucking game ever" they ruined def jam with it, ruined fight night with it, ruined ssx with it, ruined fifa, madden, nhl...god how i hated that development within their games.

I never was into skating games much, but I was really considering buying Skate. Demo was a lot of fun. Never enjoyed Tony Hawk.

It works with Fifa and Skate to me, I agree with everything else though.

I know what you mean, but in Skate's case i'm totally in favour of stick control because a) it made it pretty challenging to control and line up some good combos, which was RIDICULOUSLY EASY in TH (500.000 points combo = no sweat) and b) skating IS insanely challenging if you ever tried yourself and c) The way you control your body's center and flick the board with the stick felt natural to me, in any case a great improvement over the TH games. And let's not forget d) The TH franchise was to the skating games genre what CoD is to the ego shooter genre. Oh hey, it's the same publisher, what a coincidence... Let's burn it with fire shall we ? I'm not going to praise EA for any of their games, i'm just going to say: They did good with Skate (just to fuck it up little later with Skate 2 and 3 lol)

PS: Fuck Tony, Rodney's the man !

I always felt like tony hawks was for people who enjoy games. And skate was for people who enjoy skateboarding. Similar to how amped was for people who enjoy snowboarding while ssx and coolboarders or 1080 was for people who enjoy games. I'm a gamer...not a skateboarding/snowboarding enthusiast...hence my preference.
