The funniest part about this game is that it's on a cross platform engine. The 360, in many ways, has quite a bit more to show, I think.

But it's up to the developers to make it happen.

I'm hoping it takes advantage of some decent pc hardware if you've got it. Played ME1 over xmas on pc and keen to carry forward the save.

Looks cracking on the 360 never mind pc.

Another thing that probably can't be overlooked, is the fact that this is a 2 disc title.

Anyone know whether or not the second disc can be installed on the xbox HDD to avoid the whole disc-swapping malarkey? I recall being able to load the second disc content in FM3...

Why would they limited themselves with just a DVD worth of main textures, and add-ons from the second disc? thats FM3, a single DVD game that burst into some add-on content, but nevertheless, a single disc game in mind.

With a 2 disc separate main-quest, bioware has more disc space to properly take advantage in the making of the game. If they did use it, rests to be seen.

Well, thats atleast the less important part, because the superior PC plataform can run games at twice, triple of the performance of the current gen console games, so no... PC means nothing. What is important is the level of requirements the dev. is targeting. If it's a crysis-type niche game for uber pc rigs, or a mass broad game to the average joe computer, one has has crazy specs need to play the visual orgasmic experince it offers, the other needs to be way lower. In this case, the specs on the PC can't be much more higher than those needed for the original mass effect. makes sense.

What really doesn't let the game acheive higher is that this is bioware (great developer, but never the best of the BEST in graphics and more importantly: performance department) and the most important aspect... they are using a third party engine (UE3) that is one that lets the devs acheive more with less effort, so they could had been lazy and have a "Unreal Engine 3" ugly look and be at the same visual style and graphical level as all the other 3rd party devs out there. But it isn't, and for that props.

The first one looked great too... until you see all the clipping and shoddy framerate :P It's one thing to have a great looking game. It's another to have that game running smoothly the whole time while looking that great.

I'm not bashing anything/one. Just saying that I'll reserve my judgement till I play the game.

NO.
You can install both on hdd, but you still nedd to do disc swapping.

Why? Because every game needs a disc in dvd tray, and I don't see a reason why it would change? It's also confirmed by devs, btw.

But come on!
The whole swap happens ONCE in the whole game. Is it so damn hard to change disc once in like 10hrs of gameplay?

the game always had some of the best character detail in any game... even since mass effect: Wrex in-game model.

But most of the people faces models suffer a little bit from western art/porpotions and a little of Oblivion 'make your character' ugliness.

this game just looks better and better and better.... Shows the 360 keeps on giving

I still dont get what people make deal of a fu*king disc swap, you play the frigging game for 40 hours, and you hav eto get up ONCE to swap a disk! Really are you really that lazy that you cant get up to swap a disk!

lol that's pretty funny and true. Although if you can only navigate to certain parts of the universe with the second disk then going back and forth would be a hassle. So we'll see how they pull it off.

What is wrong with western art and proportions? There is usually more accurate proportions, more realism, and more variety in the sequential art with western art. I stopped watching anime and playing jrpgs a long time ago because it all looks the same.
