Every time i see an article about Trackmania i think about how awesome a modern version of Stunt Car Racer could have been.

I wonder how people will play this with a VR-set since "everyone" uses 3rd person cameras in driving games.

In almost every case i prefer 1st person view in driving and flying games so VR is something i'm really looking forward to.

since cockpit view has become more prevalent in racers, i'm not sure that's true anymore. i know i used chase cam only in the PSone days, but since colin mcrae on PS2 i'm all about the cock....pit! lol

I never use third person cameras in driving games.. but Trackmania is hardly a driving game.

I don't use the cockpit view either. Why waste your senses filling over a third of the screen with crap? It's worse than a cluttered HUD. Hood/bumper cams ftw. But anyway.. I can easily imagine this making people sick. Trackmania is not even a little realistic.

No one uses chase cam apart from casuals and kids.

In semi-realistic racers, sure.. but Trackmania is about as realistic as Mario Kart or F-Zero.

This isn't a "driving game."

PC gamers are going to get the most out of VR with their hardware advantage.
As a console owner im a realist as far as VR is concerned.. its gonna suck on this gens underpowered machines.

I can't wait! Hopefully the 4-person split screen applies to PC as well, and hopefully their support of controllers on PC is more plug-and-play than the last few games.

Was under the impression that Sony VR wont just rely on the PS4 but will have a CPU, Ram and maybe GPU built in?

Not sure how much of the load the VR set will be taking on but for Driveclub the optimization of the framerate is being done from the PS4 side at a slight expense to the car count and graphics. Hopefully it's just a symptom of venturing into new hardware.

It won't suck, of that I'm certain, but I'm also certain that PC users will be better equipped. Now whether or not devs actually capitalize on the PC hardware is another issue entirely. You need only look to games like Batman Arkham Origins to see that the PC experience doesn't always win out.
