where is the giant rat with wings? where is the nubile 10 year old in a tunic? where are the generic fantays soldiers? Guns, ZOMG NO!!!
alot of big fps shooting at the later part of this year.. be interesting to see how much of the "pie" each takes.
Also interesting to see microsofts firmly behind promoting this next installment of COD too...given IW arent behind it, it's not got modern warfare in the title, and Reach is close to it

I know a lot of companies have been accused of franchise milking but CoD adds a whole new dimension to this. Strike that, Activision added a whole new dimension. See music games.
Well I thought World at War, due to great map designs, Zombie mode, a fantastic 4 player co-op, and perks that are less game interupting, was a really strong title. With more modern weapons I honestly think this game has a good shot of being the game MW2 needed to be (for those of us who got worn out by MW2's perk/killstreak designs).
I know it's cool to hate all things activision, but as I see it it's been two whole years since I really played Call of Duty a lot so I'm ready to give it another shot. I hope Treyark can step up to the plate and hit one out of the park. They really deserve more credit IMO.
This over milking of the franchise is getting old, but I'm a sucker.
Nicely done trailer... graphics are top notch IMO comparable to the other most recent COD titles. Count me in.
I'm cool with the franchise... except for the pricing of DLC. I think they could make the same amount of cash, selling it for half as much... selling 2x as many "copies" of DLC.

I love this engine. The graphics are great at a blazin 60FPS! Those character faces are excellent. What's not to like? Oh yeah, it's sub-HD, so that automatically makes it ugly. And oh yes, the Activision label makes it atleast twice as ugly it appears...
Can't say I'm excited about a Vietnam COD. I wish they'd use this engine for some other games...

i'm hoping this year, but i'm guessing next. really looking forward to it tho, can pretty much guarentee it'll be my GOTY when it's released.
i too am getting sick of all these modern warfare "afgan/iraq" games. when will developers learn that you dont have to milk something to death. they did it with WW2, and now they're doing it with fucking modern warfare, what was once fresh in the light of the million WW2 titles out there, is now just as boring and generic as every other modern warfare shooter, of which there are now many all of which look beige and are set in the same god damn place.
at least do SOMETHING with it. maybe add some actual artistic style to it, maybe go entirely fictional (killzone 2 style) just do something to stop it being more of the same boring shit.
not to mention the fact it's COD, quite possible they most same old same old mechanics seen in a game.
on the plus side, this looks quite nice visually, but that isnt going to save it.

So, hopefully, it won't be a carbon copy of what we're used to.

even so, i'm done with the series, they need to lay off the anual releases and take some time to make a better more polished game. all the cod games so far are nowhere near "bad", but i've had so many of them rammed down my throat so frequently i just cant stand them anymore. they're the fifa of the FPS world. it's beyond rediculous.

some people maybe, not me. i like the fact they're going 'future warfare'. they where one of the first to go modern warfare when the current gen of console started (back when it was actually an unmilked setting for a game), it's only right for them to be one of the first to do future warfare too.

But FIFA gets significantly better every year, and is worth the money every year. I see no problem in their annual releases - although for a very long time I've argued the case for a 2-year cycle with every sports game.
