PC Xbox 360 PS3

Atari released this brand new trailer of Alone In The Dark, and it looks like this game is on its way to be very impressive. The animation isn't always great, but everything else looks really good.

Something about this game puts me off. It seems to lack any sense of artistic/directorial direction or taste; rather, it was put by game developers-cum-wannabe cinematic directors. The musical score, for one, is very unimpressive. The "cinematic" moments look like pure cheese.

In terms of the gameplay itself, it's too early for me to make any kind of judgement, although I'm skeptical as to how all these much-touted gameplay gimmicks will coalesce into a good, cohesive game experience.

The video is extremely dark (I know it`s about the dark lol), but it`s just a tad too small to make out what`s going on some of the time. The engine that is powering this game looks astonishing from what I`ve seen in past video demonstrations etc, but if it came out tomorrow, then I`d be down the shops to buy it.

It seems to lack any sense of artistic/directorial direction or taste; rather T
Taste is subjective. It doesn't have a lack of taste... it just doesn't match YOUR taste. There's a difference. :) Hell would freeze over the day that a game pleased everybody's artistic or technical tastes. There's an infinite amount of directions a game like this could be taken, and in every situation somebody would complain about one of them.

Looks good to me.

Wow. The music is downright breathtaking. Anyone know if it's still possible to find the soundtacks for the last games (if the music is anything like the stuff in this trailer, I'm all game)?
