i'm really hopeful that infamous delivers.
mainly because it's sucker punch.
judging from the trailer and previous footages, it doesn't seem to be pushing the ps3 too tough, but more importantly i hope the story, gameplay and scope of the game world turn out great.

well, they have have different gameplay directions, prototype is more OTT gore and violence, whereas infamous is much more passive in comparison.

I actually like my games to be more "passive" or slower paced rather than OTT like Prototype, but the recent gameplay footage with all the repetitive zapping completely turned me off of this game. We'll see how reviews turn out. When is this coming out anyway?

agreed, time will tell.
i too have my doubts, but i give infamous the benefit of the doubt only because it's sucker punch, i really hope that there's more to the game than we've been shown.

Ahhhhhh! The terrible running animations are still there...seriously, can't they see it?! It's truly awfull...

Game seems interesting enough, mainly because of the well excecuted level design and depth to the city, but the combat still looks lame as hell. And did I mention that they need to fix those horrible running animations!

yeah but i dont just mean the over the top action, i mean technically too... there was so much going on in prototype and i never once saw the frame rate dip, that impressed me the most.

With this though each time i see it it seems to remove alittle more of my interest. The complete repetitiveness of it, the sub par animations, and frame rate thats less that rock steady. I dunno.. the very first footage they showed of it (that smashed up bridge) i thought it looked amazing. Now though its just dull.

Who knows though..maybe theres some surprises ahead yet

If you like mindless smashing and destructions, Prototype is the one to get. But if you enjoy a more story-driven, mature, and balanced game, Infamous is a much better choice. The fact that they have a cover system and the interactions with the environment makes the gameplay more strategic and challenging.
Also, for a open world game, I prefer the city in Infamous. It looks more alive. The graphics in Prototype looks terrible, especially the cars and buildings. But the game is not finished, so let's wait and see.
Overall, IMO, Infamous is a better game based on the gameplays I've seen so far.

yeah the zap, zap ,zap ,zap, boom, is really much more mature -_-
and for the balance........please that not even worth mentioning.

OMG ,yeah now you can zap out of cover(which you practically don't need).

on the interaction thing i agree ,that adds a unique part to the game.
but the rest the game does is ,well quit poorly(graphically its awesome).

and i KNOW 80% of the people saying infamous is better then prototype are people with ONLY a ps3.

WoW, calm down. This is only my opinion. I am not here to convince you. If it is not your type of game, that's fine. But don't blame the game.

The man's only superpower is electricity. All his abilities are based on it. Other than that, he is just a human being that can be killed easily by guns. That's why he needs a cover, and that is one of the reason I like about the game, it makes you think about the strategies. In Prototype, the guy is too powerful to care about anything other than killing everything.

It's possible that his primary ability will be zapping. What other ways can you kill your enemies from a distance with only limited electricity in your hands. But bear in mind, they only showed us the early levels of the game, I heard that his ability will be evolved along the game. So, let's wait and see.

BTW, sorry to disappoint you, but I don't have a ps3, and I don't see why ps3 fanboys need to hate this game, it is not exclusive after all. I do wish Prototype will turn out to be a good game, it has the potential, maybe too much.

tbh the slower pacing of infamous is just more appealing to me then the almost TOO ott nature of prototype, and while the incredible hulk on ps2/xbox was the best hulk game out there, it was reletively shallow as well. and prototype, depite looking a whole lot better then it did in it's announcement stages, it looks far too much like a reskined version of incredible hulk for me to be that interested by it. but it's certainly a rental.

infamous has the potential to be more like assassins creed mixed with gears of war in terms of how it is paced and plays, only with super powers. prototype looks like a game with very little in terms of actual depth. but thats just my opinion.

what i really like about infamous tho is the city itself. it's the first time since crackdown that i've felt like the city was crafted FOR the lead character, and even crackdown wasnt an amazing example of it. prototype does what practically every open world game doesnt outside of GTA and thats use a cookie cutter cityscape that is comprised of rectangle after rectangle of almost copy/paste buildings. infamous however has detail not just in it's textures, but in the sheer amount of "stuff" in the environment, most of which is interactive in some way. it's a playground built for the player character. in prototype, it feels like they've just copy/pasted the city that is in spiderman 1/2/3/web of shadows etc)

but we'll see, hopefully it'll be good, sucker punch's track record is a steller one imo but then i thought the same about free radical and they produced haze, one of the most mediocre shooters this generation.
