Xbox 360 PS3

Koei released this first english trailer of Dynasty Warriors 6, as always looking brutal and mindless. But then, that's the main point of this game series :)

I'm all for mindless button mashing once in a while, but that sure does gets old quickly. How can Koei just go about churning out 5 games in this series and think that people STILL want to button mash in the 6th installment? What kind of gaming mindset is needed to buy and play these games??

No idea. I was thought I was tired of the games after 3, but when I played 4 and 5 I discovered they just... stay fun >.<

Guess I will be playing the 6th one eventually.

Still no online play ><, not picking this one up, loved the old ones but only because of CO-OP, otherwise it sucked big time.

I can't say i'm impressed with this game. Just hack your way through the endless foes. Personally i prefer to just tape the button down and go take a bath or something. The japanese rock/metal crap going on in the background was horrible too. In a fun way. Really :D

It's a cultural difference. See the Japanese have a very skewed view on what is cool in terms of music. Just look at Malice Mizer. Or any other Japanese attempt at being cool with some freaked out rock show. Ugh. Thinking about it, maybe the video of Dynasty warriors wasn't so bad after all.

no thats no what i'm saying. they've embraced a foreign type of music (rock) and combine it with their own taste of sound or music to make something unique. so music that may sound pleasing to ears to them my feel wierd to you

Dynasty Warriors is set in ancient China.

Not to mention that you're six installments too late to complain about this. This game has always been categorized by it's mindless hack and slash game play, lots of characters on screen, bad English dub (reminiscent of 70s kung-fu dubs for me) and lastly generic 80s power rock. It's obvious they're tailoring to the people who still love the game both in Japan and abroad, which is why they haven't changed the game. This is not so different from franchises such as the Tales of series or many Nintendo franchises (while you can debate whether or not they do it better, but they keep the core structure relatively intact, with some exceptions.)

I've lost interest in the game after playing 5, but I still clicked the link to see the trailer. I guess I loved Dynasty Warriors 3 and 4 so much that it had that effect on me.

Yeah, it sounds like dragonforce...only Herman Li was suffering from a especially bad case of leprosy and was being bitten in the nuts by a rabid bulldog while playing the guitar that day ^^

Dragonforce = sweet guitar players, Dynasty warriors tune = I could probably play it with a little practice (and that's not a good thing)

Have to say though, the graphics don't look as horrible as i remembered.

lol well sounds a BIT like dragonforce. A7X, KSE, children of bodom and In flames are better anyway, graphics look pretty sweet on the intro cinematic, armour = sexy . An for the record i play guitar and stuff thats easy to play can still sounds good. Sweet child O' mine?

Well its no different than the crap rap/RnB which comes from America, just as many people don't like European techno etc its all a matter of cultural taste.

if they made it with online play it would most likely suck and plus the co op was only great for like 1 misson because the people on the screen would disapper because it would be to many enemies on the screen at once

Man, I made an account just to post this one thing after I saw this discussion.

Dynasty Warriors BB or now called Dynasty Warriors Online, was out since 2006. It became an officially free game November.27(or 28th-- forgot) 2007 for everybody to download and play. Want proof? I've been playing it for a while now. But right now, there is only a japan server, taiwan server, etc. (asian servers)
An international server will probably be released later but not anytime soon since it hasn't even been announced yet! I only know cuz some chinese guys i was playing with told me they beta tested the international server.
So if you are okay at reading japanese, go download it and try it at their official site. Great graphics and quality for an ABSOLUTELY free game.
(Type dynasty warriors online in youtube for some gameplay vids)
