Xbox 360 PS3

THQ & Kaos Studios has finally released the trailer of Frontlines: Fuels of War that was being shown at the E3 floor, presenting a very promising game. Digital Illusions sold Kaos Studios just months ago, and maybe it's time for DICE to regret their decision?

I hope it turns out good. This could be a very fun game if they put the time and effort into it that it deserves.

I get a DC feeling, and that is even better!

Go Frank and Trauma Studios (aka Kaos)!

Looks like a battlefield type game, which is good, yes. But they have: no lag online, no floating character models, and a good damage system for the people (like COD2 or GRAW)

*whistles*

That was a very well done trailer.

Some shots, from a visual standpoint, reminded me of BIA3.

Nice, if the game ends up looking like that i will be very impressed!

I really hate CG trailers for games now. I might have been interested in this game before, but pre-rendered trailers like this really makes me think it wont be very good. Especially since its the first trailer released. Nowdays developers shouldnt need to rely on CG to show their game, with the gfx capabilities of next-gen consoles, they should be able to produce cinematic quality graphics using the gfx engine itself.

Its one thing to talk big and stage impressive renders, and a whole different thing to build an engine that can actually muster both the graphics and the netcode.

DICE has both in-house engines and a proven track record (though EA did their best to release unfinished code with BF2 PC and is pumping out 3rd party crappola-expansions). So many have tried to make the BF-clones and failed (next up; Quake Wars).

Oh and EA really crapped on Trauma aswell, they rather have cheapo teams churning out crappy expansions than a real high working ethic American studio doing quality work.

Kaos has licensed the UE3 engine. I think all that stuff comes preinstalled. Or something.

And Quake Wars will not fail. BF2142 will. Lame-o rushed Quake Wars-counter pseudo-sequel. I will jump ship despite despising the Quake universe with all of my body. EA shall not be getting my money. They hate their userbase.

they also have some balance issues in gameplay and vehicles, and artillery that just ruins the whole experience all together, for the PC version atleast.

Excessive artillery would be cool as long as it looked really nice. Realistic really.

I'm hoping that i will be able to fly jet-fighters..
And I would really appreciate a very evolved medical system, in which you would have to use different tools for different wounds.

Squadbased action isn't just about performing flanking maneuvers, covering fire and supressing fire.
If someone in your squad would get wounded, you and your squad would have to work together to rescue that teammate out of harms way.. This is were all that flanking and cover shooting comes in, but then what? Your teammate is still laying there in the dirt bleeding, he/she needs your help and in this case there is no magical healing gun, luckely in your squad there is a skillfull medic, who knows what to do..

Imagine seeing a list wich tells were the soldier is wounded, but this list is useless unless the medic doesen't know how to fix it..
The medic will be given four choices which will be displayed on the four buttons which the controller has.
Just to make it a little tougher for the medic, he/she can calibrate morfin injections and the pressure which is being inflicted on the wounded..
The calibration will be able to be controlled by using the D-pad.
The more difficult wounds there are the more skilled medic you need..

The Medic will have to keep his/her eyes on three meters.

Health: wich is the current health after the procedure has been completed.

Chock: Which represents the mental part of the wounded, if it goes to high the wounded will either die or go in a coma depended on the health meter, either way the wounded one will not be able to fight..

Mobility: This is what makes the soldier able to preform different simple moves such as running, jumping and holding his/her weapon properly.

All meters are depended on each other for example mobility is depended on the health.

If the wounded soldier is awake but can't use his/her legs the medic can use a combat strechter to carry the wounded to sickbay..

This is something i would really like to see in a game but it's not likely to happen..

Yes your ideas would be epic for any shooting game, and i hope a developer goes the whole 9 yards and tries to do every detail.

They dont need to liscense the UE3 engine. Its part of the whole 360 game development software pack, not to mention its available for PS3 and Wii too. No video game developer needs to work out something like that its already included in their tools.

I totally agree whit you. Propably they dont have anything to show yet and actual screenshots seen here earlier didn't look really good at all. Oh well. This game is nowhere near to be released, so not going to be awaiting this. This is allso multi platform game, what isn't really a turn-on either :)
