might give it a go tho.
Hope this is not just a pretty and "touched" up trailer for a mediocre game because it has INSANE potential and looks sick.
i'm all for them making a sequel, but if mcgree has proven anything since the first alice game, it's that his games feel incredibly dated compared to the standard on offer elsewhere. i dont see how this is going to be any different. but hell, maybe the footage was just a low point in the game, maybe it was an unfinished environment? so maybe it wasnt indicative of the final game. i'm willing to wait and find out but i'm not holding my breath.
:)
i'm sure the game would look "meh" no matter what engine they used thanks to the way it's been designed (it's just so boxy), but the engine is doing them no favours what so ever. i dunno what the engine does to textures, but it makes them all look weird, like they've been oversaturated. the fact you can tell a UE3 engine powerd game from any other shows something is standing out...and not in a good way imo.
this is looking 'damnation' levels of poor atm. if the environments where a bit more interesting geometry and detail wise (bulletstorm, bioshock, gears) then it would look infinately better. i just can't get over how much this looks like a UE3 powered dreamcast game in terms of its level design. which is a shame, becasue mechanically it looks pretty cool (the abilities, the combat, the invisible platforms etc) even the plot, theme, voice acting seem decent. but man oh man do i hate the level design.

I like! A pleasant (or not so pleasant) twist on a classic. Something that disturbs not only because of its gruesomeness but because of the setting it has distorted.
More please =)
As for boxy level design, surely every game has boxy level design its just that the shape of the box is different?
