Xbox 360 PS3

The demo of Mirror's Edge will be available in a few hours on the PSN, and tomorrow on Xbox Live, so Electronic Arts released this trailer showing a bit of its content.

This will be like Assassins Creed...cool at first, same in the long run (repetitive).
But whatever...a free demo is a free demo, I will still play it, try and have fun (not like I am buying it).

i dont think it'll be like assassins creed simply becasue its a more linear experience. assassins creed was repetative because you was given a very boring and samey open world with nothing to do in it. mirrors edge is linear however, so it can create set peices and story to keep you engaged. something assassins creed couldnt do.

This game looks very interesting, the only thing I'm worried about is weither it'll be repetitive or not.. what KORNdog says sounds true, but still.. Anyway, definitely gonna try this demo, and we'll see! =D

The music in this game is awesome. I think this one might have to wait though. I still have fallout 3 sitting on my desk unopened until I beat Fable 2.

I wish the game was third person, seems like a waste to make a character model, and animate it, but never let the player see it. Maybe that's just me.

Well Assassins creed had a greta story, it was the rest that was more dissapointting, but I agree on the linearness helping with the repetition of gameplay. It won't be another ASsassin''s Creed, and if it is, so what, AC was a great game, I still play it.

I'm sorry, I forgot your body is invisible to yourself in real life. You do see the model, maybe not every inch of it, but still. Plus you can see reflections of yourself. Its not a waste, in fact FP games need to start doing it more often.

Dude, Im not trashing the game, Im just saying I'd like to see the full body, so I can appreciate all the animations and effort they put into it. That's one of the things I loved about AC. Seeing the occasional reflection of the character just isnt enough for me. Should still be an awesome game though, and the first person perspective wont stop me from getting it.

the demo is fun and while the controlls feel easy to use and get into ,they still have a bit of challenge, unlike ACs

It's certainly not unwarranted pessimism based on what I've seen.

Well no, I just dont see any replayvalue in there for me to shell around $70 for. And I did play the demo, and I knew my from the videos and all that I wouldnt like it, and the demo holds true that its not something I am gonna do, just run around and get across some obstacles.

And I agree with MKK160 here, I mean, why not 3rd person?
Smooth and fluid animation on Faith, you could actually see all that, but in 1st person, you can't see any of that.
Feels like you are controlling a camera for a map editor and floating around, with occasional body parts being in there.

In the loading screen, you could see Faith doing various melee attacks, and I kept wishing the game would look like that than its now.

But whatever, I hope those looking forward to it, enjoy it...I thought it was unique and all, but thats it.

You are then missing the entire point of the game.
"Mirror's Edge aims to "convey the strain and physical contact with the environment", according to senior producer Owen O'Brien, and to instill a freedom of movement not yet seen in the first-person genre. This is achieved not only with moves inspired by parkour and free running, but also by tying camera movement more closely with character movement, such that the rate at which the camera bobs up and down increases as Faith builds up speed while running and the camera spins when she rolls."
