PS3

Namco-Bandai finally released the first trailer of their upcoming PS3 exclusive Naruto game, and it looks really good. There really is a big difference in animation quality, not even mentioning facial expressions, with Ubisoft's game.

To me I can't tell the difference between this video and the 360 videos, except that Naruto's face looks more 'anime' and less 'Western anime imitation'.

graphics looks slightly better, but is this just a fighting game?

If so I hope theyve greatly added to the formula. The previous ps2 games were quite fun, but also quite shallow

You people must be smokin' WAY too much crack.
Edit some scenes... and this game would be in doubt about the Ubi one.

No, Namco-Bandai seems to have done a much better job than Ubisoft. They've taken greater care to capture the anime style with their version.

Add this with their art direction of Tales of Vesperia and they've got a couple of potential winners going for them.

Well lets hope they execute it well because Namco, Bandai, and NamcoBandai are not the cream of the crop with their games.

Is this actually a conversion of the Xbox360 Naruto game? If so then I have to concede that the PS3 has won this one, at least on graphics. :( Although I think it's more the power of the Japanese developers than the power of the Playstation. :D (Not that Ubisoft are bad, in fact they're generally pretty amazing!) Since Ubisoft doesn't have the rights to bring out the Xbox360 version in Japan do you think there's any slight chance that Namco might port this to the Xbox360 there? If so then I might wait for that rather than buying the Ubisoft version. (Unless this is actually a different game to Ubisoft's.)

It is a straight fighting game, whereas the Xbox 360 Naruto is an action adventure role playing game.

Oh, OK. Then it's a little unfair to compare the graphics as the Ubisoft game obviously has a lot more going on. This still looks great though. :)

Fantastic animation but naruto games and anime games in general have a pretty shitty track record and mostly appeal to hardcore anime fans that buy the game regardless of its quality.

Separate games. It's a straight up fighter most likely, with a RPG(story) mode similar to what we saw in Ubisoft's game. Well, judging by their past Naruto games on the PS2 that is. Hopefully they make use of the Shippuden arc(they already have with the PS2 games), seeing how they aren't limited by licensing issues like Ubisoft.

that kind of gives you an idea(one of their games on the PS2).

This game will never make it over here anyway, Viz Video has all rights over naruto in the U.S and UBI Soft holds the license for the game and are apparently in bed with MS. I wonder how well naruto sold by the way I don't really remember it being in the NPD stats. I need played the adventure portion of it just fought online.

?

their previous games outside of the Shippuden series have already been released in America. The games just have to fall in line with the US dub, which is why we get the delay. No idea what you're talking about in your first sentence.

The trailer is sick. Hopefully it will be a free roam game rather than a fighting game. I think CC2 is smart enough to realize free roam would be best for the PLAYSTATION 3.

Amazing what conclusions people can draw from a postage-stamp sized trailer :D Game looks good no doubt but we'll have to wait for some actual gameplay (as in some homeboy playing it). Good luck to namco bandai then.

Surely anything Ubisoft has ever made can be topped rather easily, its not a feat in itself.

Better facial animation? ok... right. Looks more like a Naruto/DBZ fight escheme than the 2 on 2 on the Ubi game? ok... right.
All the rest shitty conclusions from a Trailer... better ART?! More Crisp n' Fuid?! Better Visuals?! Looks WAY better?! You people have some serious "eyesight problems". Go see your doctor, ASAP.
