There's no way this game doesn't make it onto Fox News. And I don't think I can blame them this time. Dis is fucked up.

I don't know, what is SO shocking on this one. OK...torturing. Hmmm...thinking about Fallout, where You can kill children, all GTA games where You can just kill anyone, mostly innocent, Soldiers of Fortune,..etc. So many games with ultra violence. Nothing shocking about this one. Yes...it's violent and gory, but also interesting with the decisions You have to make. And if it's gonna be on Fox News, who cares. Americans are always so offended by games content, but behind the corner, You can buy any weapon You want. As I said...funny.

I think those games you mention would be equivalent to this if say, Fallout was a game entirely based around killing children

Maybe, but I really don't think it's something shocking today. It's just a game.

It's not like the violence here is just nothing in the context of the game though. I mean it's not supposed to make people turn away & vomit in repulsion, yet it's clearly supposed to be gruesome, but in a way that's mostly hidden in the lo-fi style.

Looks to me like you'll also play those who get tortured. At least in the first scenario

The prototype of the game is also available as flash version. You'll see that it's more about making tough decisions than just fucking people up

It just looks like torture porn to me so far
More desensitization for the masses

There's nothing redeeming about this at all from what I can tell

This message is in "Boulet Time" (TM), If you still *really* want to see it, click here
This is a game about making tough decisions with some puzzle elements, not torturing people. The graphics are pixel art and not remotely realistic in any way, with a handful of pixels for each character - so seeing one of these characters get their heads blown off is hardly going to shock or desensitize anyone. You need to realise that most people, even kids, are not as stupid as you and wont be affected by this game.

You sound like a social justice warrior. Maybe go to RPS or Kotaku with all the other idiots to debate non-issues and find problems when theres nothing there. I came to this site because i'm sick of people like you.

hahaha sorry for your plight dude, sounds like a hard life!
Hope you enjoy your time here, it's a cool place and you'll actually get to know people ;)

Anyway, I'd have less of an issue if this looked at all interesting or any deeper than my choice of whether to cut someone's hand off or bludgeoning them with a bat
I've enjoyed games like Hotline Miami which are extreme violence, but it was actually an interesting game with great music, visuals, and some pretty good gameplay
Also I don't care how pixelated a person gets, it's still representative of a human being. And given our culture currently a game like this isn't going to be doing the industry any favors

Though this trailer might give the wrong impression of the game I still don't see how you've come to deem it as "torture porn". That seems extreme to say the least. Visually it is so far from anything that is realistic that it just doesn't have any bearing on real world violence.

Just because you don't think it looks it's "an interesting game with great music & visuals" is no means to dismiss it as torture porn.

How is it anything besides choosing methods to torture human hostages?

I have a hard time understanding how I can be way off base. Phaethon at least understands

I get the feeling you're being purposely stubborn here, but I'd suggest you take a look at some actual gameplay:

The gameplay looks better than this trailer, which is the point. They're in charge of showing off their game, and that trailer definitely showcased a torture porn.

Come on now, we can't look beneath the surface. That takes effort! I'd rather play "I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream," but I don't know if I should read it first or play it first.
