Xbox 360 PS3

Another trailer shown during the VGA's was this impressive trailer of 2K Czech's Mafia 2, planned to be released next fall on Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC.

Maybe some of you will already have read this:

Mafia 2 on PC will be directx 10 exclusive. This has been confirmed by 2K. Although it is planned for the end of 2009, I think that's a strange choice, as Vista is not yet a big succes among gamers.

This may also say that the graphics on consoles will be downgraded.
The 360 supports a fair few of the DirectX 10 features, although not all of them.

I'm REALLY looking forward to this game. I think the PC version is going to be the only way to go! Core i7 ftw.

On a totally different note, what has happened to the Gamersyde Diaries? I used to watch them always when you guys put them online. They had good views on games and had nice exclusive footage not found elsewhere.

I hope they keep the storyline a total secret as the first one had a nice story arch. Pure Mafia stuff.

(- too bad about the diaries)

none this game looks impressive.

Loved the first Mafia on the pc... will be interesting to see how well consoles pull this off.

And ofcourse it will look better if you've got a high-end rig. You're comparing it to how it plays on a 3yr old £99 machine.

Got a link? Because if that's true this game is gonna BOMB. Like less than 50k sales. Even Crysis & GTA4 weren't DX10 only.

Honestly the graphics don't look dependent on DX10 at all, what worries me equally much is they seem dependent on texture memory. The models & effects are nothing special but the textures look insane.

This makes GTA look really bad. There is actually style to it and a personable lead character. Niko is just horrible.

The sad thing is... we have to wait until Fall 2009. :(

There's something very Shenmue-esque about the graphics...i think i'll play this one, but i can't help thinking about how HUGE would be Shenmue 3 with a a similar engine T_T

Cool trailer, but I am a bit weary of all these trailers of games lately that would be great for like, movies, but terrible for a game. you r not really showing much of whats going on. We KNOW what the guy does, the title says it all. Show us some real action or something. At least its gunna look amazing on PC. I still gotta get GTA IV.

Mafia PC was one of the best games ever. Beautiful graphics for the time, great story, fantastic voice acting and cutscenes. production values through the roof. unfortunately the console versions didn't live up to the pc version.

i can't wait until this is availabe on my pc. i hope they can do a better job with the console versions so everyone has a chance to really enjoy this game.

by the way, i'm sure the graphics will be fantastic, as they were in the first game, but i wouldn't take all these trailers and screenshots to heart. thats a mistake so many gamers make.. remember, they have to sell their product. if they need photoshop or dev box to help them do that with a little polishing, that's what they are going to do.

Vista is not yet a big success among gamers? kk sure, believe the internet rumors about how vista sux and lowers your fps lol..
Vista actually makes games run BETTER on my system, never crashes (other than crashes depending on the actual bugginess of games themselves obviously), never had a single bluescreen, and no problems with anything other than the creative crappy sound-cards (which i have now replaced with the Asus Xonar).

Seriously, the entire vista-sux myth is just that, a myth fabricated by ppl who are afraid of change, just like when XP was released when everyone said it suxed and they would never change from win98, LOL.
I dont know a single person who still uses XP, and most of them are gamers.

Yeah Vista is great OS and actually works a lot faster than XP. Programs start quicker and that kind of stuff. Also the fps problems are gone now. Only thing is that if you try to play older games it can get a bit hard to get stuff to work. That's why I still have XP installed to get old games to work without as much trouble.

With new games I haven't got many problems so far and when game crashes it won't kill the whole OS like XP did many times.

Hmm DirectX 10 only? Interesting, I can't wait see how well will this new engine perform.

I'm already excited for this. Looks very promising, I just hope the production value is as high as in the first Mafia. The gameplay was medicore but the whole story just sucked you into the 1930s.
