2K Games has released the first trailer of Don King Presents: Prizefighter, to be released on Xbox 360 in June and on Wii & DS this fall. The game is developed Venom Games, who also did the Rocky games on last generation consoles. They talk much about the feature-filled career mode, and the graphics seem to at least be on par with Fight Night 3 so it all looks quite promising.

I didnt see funky ragdolls, flapping jawbones or collapsing gloves. All I see is an arcade fighter trying desperately to look like the king of boxing games.
I could be wrong, but at a glance it doesnt seem equal and definitely not better than FNR3, so has to be inferior.
Considering FNR3 did almost everything right and more, yet didnt succeed financially, 2K is not going to put loads of money into this to push their developer ego, just enough to fool you into buying. The lack of a PS3 version underlines this theory because the PS3 version would eat up a huge chunk of the budget (possibly double the current budget).

It should be possible to break your hand during a fight but that should be dynamic and dependant on appropriate events and circumstances (for example throwing a power body shot as your opponent turns so you punch him on the hip bone)........

Our main concerns are with the in-ring fighting and overall replayability. Apparently there is one path through the 50 fights in a career, meaning that if you break your hand in the third fight then you'll always break your hand in that fight, no matter if you start fresh with a newly designed boxer. The actual boxing needed another coat of paint as well as its fluidity was lacking, thus bringing the overall realism.
Considering that for a boxing game the most important aspects are in-ring fighting and overall replayability it's a bit worrying that the game is supposedly released in two months, methinks I'll wait for Prizefighter 2009.......
