Xbox 360 PS3

Microsoft also released this trailer for Vampire's Rain, to be released on July the 3rd in the US, and probably around that week in Europe. It went gold and will be sold for full price, 59$. If you want to see more of it, check out our long videos of the Japanese version at the game info page.

There's a demo of this game on the Japanese marketplace. You can play a few missions offline and there's even an online mode. Unfortunately it's a pretty crappy game. Think Splinter Cell with vampires but done horribly wrong.

rain looks nice (which is good considering the game title). i dunno why but these really unpolished japanese games have a strange apeal to me, this, earth defense force, tenchu z, bullet witch, they're all very below par in every aspect, yet i want them more then any other. (except earth defense force which i own and LOVE)

Beautiful and truly scary CG, but why doesn't the game itself look good. (in agreement with KORNdog). The Japanese 360 games like Dead Rising and Lost Planet are way better.

Somehow, any Japanese game on the ps3 has a better appeal to me. Don't know why..

I liked the demo more than I thought I would. It's definitely got it's fair share of problems but if it was released at a lower price around $30-40 like EDF was, I'd probably pick it up.

It's not a MS game, but it is a 360 game, and no not an exclusive. MS just released the trailer.

Oh my god.

They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery but, this is just nuts.

Everything looks like Splinter Cell 1, except for the vampires of course.

^^ It's exclusive in North America and maybe Europe... Japan though, it's on the PS3 as well... this is only cuz Microsoft decided to pick up the game for publishing... I think I remember reading actually decent Famitsu reviews for the game =P but yea, it looks like a very poor visually stimulating game. Maybe not PS2, but not up to standards in the current-gen that's for sure.

But no one trusts Famitsu reviews anyway. At least that's the impression I got.

Some trust Famitsu when it best suits them. FFXII got a 40/40 from Famitsu? Big deal to Xbox fans, Famitsu isn't reliable at all. Eternal Sonata got a 35/40 from Famitsu? ZOMG! The Game Of The Year 2007? Now 360 will PWN all <- the kind of reaction you get from some fans of 360. Suddenly it matters that the best scoring title in Famitsu is for Xbox 360.

I've always taken Famitsu's reviews as a first indication of the quality of games, since Famitsu is many times the first magazine to review games (Japanese ones). If Famitsu gives the game a 30+ review, it's pretty much quaranteed that the game is good, at least if you have nothing against Japanese games. If it gets a 35+ score, then it should be an AAA title and a must get for a fan of the genre/series. Of course I've disagreed with some reviews, but honestly... I'm sure everyone has disagreed with reviews of even their favorite gaming sites, so it's not that big of a deal for some to call it "unreliable" just because they think Game X should get a better/worse score than it got from Famitsu.

To keep with the theme of Vampires- they should have called it S.U.C.K.S. and made it stand for something...

It looks like Splinter Cell and Metal Gear had a love child with Legacy of Kain. And it lived. Somehow.

looks like bulletwitch. but seriously this is on a next generation game and it plays like crap, and they are going to sell it at full price? sounds kind of a rip off to me. at least earths defence force sold at 40$ that made up for its not so good looking graphics.

When I first played the single player I didnt enjoy it, it first. As I kept playing I enjoyed it. I first played the mission when you are in the bathroom. The second mission was much more better, the outdoor mission. Once I saw the scope of the second mission I started to enjoy it.

There is one thing, that I noticed, that the Splinter Cell series has yet to capture, and that's an huge expansive level in which you can free roam. They need to add this to SC single player because the multiplayer of SC lets you go on anything and however way you want and that is how I want SC to be like.

When you are outside in the rain level that is when the game looks good.
